I saw what you did--everyone did. You made a word game out of God's word, claiming that the words given in parable were what is real rather than what they are a parable of. Obviously, you still don't get that it has all been a parable, created in men, in word, in the world, in His mere "image."

That is what happens when you are not looking at what is actually real. And then you turn on your brother.
Scott, The Victim in All This
lol

well, i guess anything's possible? But honest, every instance of "eternity" in the Bible is from aion
or at least virtually every one, might be an exception or two
aidios is almost always xlated "forever."
so it isnt about a single parable, idt

anyway, nice try i guess
maybe "eternal" meant something different in King James' day? Life-long or something?
im actually coming to suspect that as it is such a faithful rendition otherwise

im sure its easier to talk at other Death, more abundantly types, but i mean you might see it as a chance to hone your um sales pitch, maybe?

hope it wasnt as painful for you as it looked ok

You rejected my "direct" answer, so I told you the truth about the words being a parable because men have trouble comprehending--and sure enough, you didn't comprehend that either.

I'll say it again... "Eternity" (in the original language) is a parable of which the spiritual meaning is rather: everlasting, forever, having no beginning or end, etc.. In other words, God has used many living examples and word pictures of what He is truly revealing in terms people are accustom to, as a half-step in the right direction, which can only be discerned spiritually, so that only those of His spirit will fully understand.

ah so a metaphor you mean ya?
so youre saying that aion, which is usually (wow, virtually always) mistranslated as “everlasting, forever, having no beginning or end” was deliberately mistranslated that way by scribes in order to illuminate an association with aidios, which is actually what that definition defines? Seems like a stretch. I mean a local audience would have understood “a space of time, an age,” so what about them?

Why would the preacher back then and the preacher now, preaching the same sermon, use different words?

and the “direct answer” thing was about this (which might clear that up, since i know you didnt mean that anyway)
How is it, do you think, that the same Jesus Who said your past two vv could also say There is only One Immortal..., No one has ever gone up to heaven..., The kingdom of heaven is within, I came that you might have life, more abundantly, etc, not to mention all of the supporting OT vv?
and you can add to dust you will return
all go to the same place
you and your sons (rejected) will be here with me (accepted)
we do not yet know what we will become
(except ScottA and his many, many peers, who nonetheless cant seem to really agree on the details)

look bro i know youre just dying to get that big, fat ego of yours into “eternal” bliss forever and ever as bad as i am, but you. dont. know. that, ok, and im not doing this to make fun of you but to maybe instill the tiniest bit of questioning and wonder

What if Yah has a better idea? Why go down this dangerous road of mapping out the future, fortune telling, when No one knows where they go when they die?

You are not being clear. Best I can figure is you were just trying to dis' me after an illiterate rant.

You might start with telling me what you mean by "vv."

remarkable how often that occurs at about this spot in this particular convo though, lol
gee, i wonder why that is
even in perfect Engrish, doesnt matter
(let the reader understand)
If you know and are capable of "perfect English", you are not using it. This is on you. Yes, every time the rubber meets the road, your communication skills don't cut it. And, yes, those are parables, if you need me to translate--I can do that.

You are correct--I don't understand most of what you write, nor what you just said. Does anyone?

Surely you must just be here for your own reasons.

Anyone want to say you understand bbyrd009, or that he is perfectly clear and having great communication skills? Anyone?

this is just another deflection, Scott; i am not attempting to be understood by everyone, and tbh i dont expect to be understood by you. Do you really think saying “How is it that the same Jesus that spoke the two verses you Quoted could also say No one has ever gone up to heaven, There is only One Immortal, etc?” might clear this all up? Fine, there you go then. Is the “etc” confusing you, bc i can go copy/paste it verbatim if you need k

im perfectly ok with you taking those as rhetorical Qs btw
have a nice evening

No, it's just that your acronym coded broken english is like clanging cymbals (just noise).

But you tried to clarify...so maybe there's hope.
  1. Did you mean "No one has ever gone up to heaven, [AND] There is only One Immortal, etc?"
  2. And are you referring to something I said, or are you making that statement/quote yourself?
  3. Either way, what's your point?
  4. And, yes, it might help if you cut and paste or better yet, use the "Quote" feature to quote whatever you are referring to, and it will identify who said what for you.
