How and when do you think the Holy Spirit will bring us to the `Unity of the Faith?`

`till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.` (Eph. 4: 13)

According to that scripture there will be unity when we stop being childish in God. Tossed about, without stability in the Word.
Now mind you it doesn't mean we all may be in the same place in growth but will be in spirituality.
We will believe what God says. We will live by what God says. We will continually lean to his will for each of our lives.
We forget often times we are not our own. Christ is the head and we the believers the body.
Not all parts are alike but ALL ARE NECESSARY in their turn.
When we are unified in perfect love and acceptance then I believe we shall see God move.

We each have a place God has chosen for us to work. Some apostles some teachers ect.
I find envy & jealousy kill the fruit of the Spirit. We seem to think God has favoured one above another by our gifts through the Spirit.
This is division and causes us to pull against the body much like a broken bone.
Truly ppl tend to boast which adds fuel to the fire and the dis-jointing is greater.
None of us are worthy but we tend to forget this bc of the flesh.
The Judds say a song years ago " Love can build a Bridge" . The love of God surpasses ALL understanding.
Greater love hath no man than this that a man will lay down his life for another.

Are we there yet ? NO
Can we get to where God wants us and be in unity ? YES

We need to study what makes us unified instead of all these division in doctrine by denominal chaos.

Thank you for such great comments. Now I would like to just focus on this statement you made.

Can we get to where God wants us and be in unity ? YES

The `can we,` part. Do you think it is just up to us or rather us listening and receiving from the Holy Spirit the truths of Christ that we need to mature in? If so what would they be?

1 Corinthians 13. Love is the unity despite the way people may see as far as their view of scripture. Can love cause unity though?

Proverbs 16:7

Thank you Matthew for entering our conversation.

`speaking the truth in love. ` (Eph. 4: 15) So we see that TRUTH is needed as well. So what truths are we talking about?

Grace and truth came through Jesus; the thing is does one know the whole context and scope to all he has done. He is the only one to save the soul; and the answer to the question.

Thank you for asking

So true. We don`t fully understand the depths all those great truths however we do need to know them for that is what `grows` us.

`Speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ.` (Eph. 4: 15)

So what are some of the great truths that we believe of Christ and His purposes?

Hi Marilyn,

I think God is simple in this he presented to us the way of life through the Spirit and we chose to accept.
So I do believe it is on us through his Spirit. Jesus said to take his yoke on us for it is easy....why is it easy? It is easy bc he shoulders it with us.
Yet when God tells us to do something for our or another's good we first doubt before we receive it. Scripture says the just shall live by faith and if we are led of the Spirit we will live in the Spirit.

There is too much grumbling about this is works or that is legalistic or yada yada.
Who's voice should we care more about man's or God's.

All that the Lord requires of us is made plain in his word.
He ask us to decrease that he might increase. We can only do this through his Spirit giving us guidance, harmonizing the word, and making it individual.

We all must be looking and heading in the same direction for unity to be accomplished. Too many times we are wrapped up in out denominal stand rather than the Word.

It is right and good to discern and to test the spirits but I think we show our lack of trust in him when we make this complicated. If God says it, should we NOT just OBEY.

There have been instances in scripture where the ridiculous has been required. Isaiah walking around naked for three years. Hosea commanded to marry a whore and father children of her. Paul was asked " why do you kick against the pricks"? If our intent is to follow God with a whole heart, let his Spirit lead us in the Word, and serve and please him in his will, why are we kicking against the pricks ?

It already has maam. When Jesus was enthroned as King, satan was cast from heaven to the earth. The appointed times of the nations was over, and we entered into the last days of this system, a period not to exceed a generation. During those last days, Isaiah prophesied that God's house would rise and people from all nations would stream to it and be educated in His ways and walk in His paths chap 2:2,3. Being deep into that last day stretch, God's people are fairly easy to identify by Scripture, and yes they are united.

Your doctrine and belief is in error. Read the Word again. Satan was cast down to the earth while it was still in darkness before God created all and man. Michael not God battled Lucifer and the fallen angels with the army of God.

You must be JW believing heaven is here on earth and hell is what you make it.

There is no unity among christendom.

So what are some of the great truths that we believe of Christ and His purposes?

The most direct and heavy message is that one denies their self and picks up the cross and follows after Jesus in faith.

Allowing one self to grow and mature rooted in Christ, becoming conformed to his image because of the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit of Christ with-in the believer, who is also a part of the Kingdom of God, becoming a child or a son or daughter of God as they learn and grow in their faith in which comes by only hearing and reading of the word, in my best estimation, Marilyn.

The Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Christ is what brings forth new life, seeing that Jesus did not make his home here, though he had many people around him, he eventually died alone on the cross, and after three days of being buried in the tomb; Was rose again by God, which was by his Father. Jesus (being the very Word of God and the very be-gotten son of God), sets the example of what happens after we pass away here. We raise again but in the Heavenly realms.

Oh boy!
He broke that into two parts.
1. The unity of the trust (that can move mountains)
2. The knowledge of Jesus

#1 is the only way TO #2. So we keep wandering in the desert of the testing of our trust because we don’t trust. I mean we trust Him to keep us from death, just like Israel did when they stepped out under the wall of water, but then we proceed to not continue in trust, which is proved out by all of our complaining and worrying and arguing and fussing.

So then we try to fix it by doctrinal disputing, imagining that faith means that instead of trust.
Weve been hijacked and hoodwinked away from the first step. Who would want to hinder that?

Good comments there, L. So, what truths do you see of Christ that are of `the faith? `

This can only happen at the Resurrection/Rapture.
Yes, obviously we will all be in unity of what we believe at that time, however the Lord has said that His Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth.

So, what truths do you see that we all agree on at this time?

You seem to be confused with Israel there.

So, what truths of Christ do you see unite God`s people?
