I'm pretty sure Jesus primarily said He came to seek and save the lost. Why do we suppose Jews, whose whole existence centered around worship, would be considered "lost?" Might it be that they had been misled by their religious leaders to believe that "worship" was to follow a bunch of rules they laid down, and to perform dozens of specifically mandated rituals, and to observe an equally massive number of "special" days?
