Iran also said the USA can't be trusted after Trump withdrew from that agreement. They said any agreement would have be an official treaty ratified by the Senate since they don't trust Trump. The Europeans in that agreement were disturbed too. Things are falling apart. I agreed with what Colin Powell said yesterday.

The potential for catastrophe seems huge to me. If the Turks decide to kill as many Kurds as they can find, who will stop them? Syria can't. Russia won't since the Russians help make that deal. Iran won't. Iraq won't. The Kurds will be sitting ducks the way they were in Iraq after the US withdrew support for them. Saddam went in with poison gas and armed forces and killed who knows how many? That was after the Kurds were supporting the American side in the war between Iran and Iraq. When that war ended, the US saw no further use for them.
Turkey's problem is having so many refugees. It is a huge problem. Europe doesn't want them. Certainly Trump doesn't. So they say they have a reason for going into Syria -- and they do -- but it's an extremely dangerous situation.
