Tithing is not required.

its requested , as "God loves a cheerful giver"..

Its an opportunity to place your money into Christianity, which has many moving parts.

Giving to the poor can be a Tithe
Giving to your Local church in the "plate" can be a tithe, that keeps the electric bill paid and all the rest.
Giving to missions is a tithe.
Giving to your neighbor is a tithe

All the tithe .. or the offering, is,..... is you taking what God has given into you bank account, into your hand... and sharing it out of a heart of love.

Some people love to give.
Some people love to take.

So, there are those who are very greedy and carnal, who would oppose giving.....

And there are those who preach a bondage message whereby they make you feel condemned if you dont tithe.
Their heart isn't right.
Their theology isn't correct.

However, God is not that one, and just wants you to cheerfully give.
If you can't then keep it for yourself.

The is a spiritual principal of God giving through you, more and more, as you give more and more.
You dont have to be that one.... as you have free will to decide what you do with your money, or with your life.

Its up to you.
You get to decide and that way, you can't blame anyone else for how YOU Behave, as you decied that end result, every waking moment, Reader.

Mr 12:41And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
Mr 12:42And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
Mr 12:43And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
Mr 12:44For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Ah, I wonder where "Radio Roswell" is now. "Roswell" was member on another forum whose number one pet peeve was churches that require (and enforce) tithing as a condition of membership.

That's not a church. That's an exclusive members only club.

Someone here once told of a church that required perspective members to provide a copy of their W2. This way the church would know how much of a tithe to expect from that individual .

That's Satanism. Not Christianity.

That's exactly what Roswell's church did.

I hope I can go back and summarize the main points of this video.
Tithing was a LEGAL REQUIREMENT under Jewish law. Christians are not under the law, and so tithing is not a legal requirement. However Christians are supposed to give to support Christian works. SO give as you're led by the Holy Spirit.

Simple as that.
