Theologians have messed it up.
I am talking about the ones that attended University / Bible Schools.
Most end up being left wingers.

(Specially in Europe, where I come from, many are hired men
preaching on Sunday about a Bible they don't believe in.
And they admit it.)

And no "respectable theologian" ever fully agrees with any other.
