Hi, in context of my response, an unsaved person is only guided by heart and emotions, there is no other Higher authority. A Christian, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, is guided by Him. Of course, our different emotions we do have are in light of God's saving Grace. Secure in Christ, our joy is happier, our sorrow is shared with Jesus, and Jesus disciplines His children, like His own family, to humble us and learn to trust Him more.

I believe the reverse of the wine, if one tastes the new, they will not stay in the old. Mark 2:22, The world is worse than you said, Children in school, and maybe high school have never heard the name Jesus. Yet, church's send missionaries to other countries over and over. "Except the Lord watch over the city, the watchmen waken in vain." Is the Lord still watching over the city? If not what is the only thing that would induce Him to? I think the Lord is only really watching over the remnant who are humbly penitent and trusting in Him. Just like with the judgment of the "Babylon" of the first century in 70AD, He will be faithful to lead and guide and help the remnant who are faithful to Him. As Solomon wisely wrote, "There is nothing new under the sun, what has been will be again".
Our example Israel who had perverted her ways became the adulterous harlot "Babylon" of the first century, and a church in the last days who perverts her ways is become the adulterous harlot "Babylon" of the last days. Being unequally yoked with the world and its governments (riding the beast) turns God's city on a hill, into a Babylon.
Well, they were Jesus' words and wisdom. It takes time for the palate to get used to a new taste. We tend to prefer what we have become accustomed and acclimatized to. Something different tastes foreign, even if it is better. The Jews were in a way, at a disadvantage compared to the Gentiles who had not tasted the old.
To taste the new wine of the new covenant and leave the old, one must be willing.

We must draw that line in the sand, you are either with Jesus Christ or of the world. We must separate from the world but preach the gospel to the Unsaved. Satan has the world we can be no part of, and many are blinded from hearing the truth. You can't preach to a tv screen; you have walk and tread lightly in this foreign world we just temporally reside in. Store you treasures in heaven and not on this earth.
