There is a good reason for that ( the Gospel Of John that we often send Newbies to in order to find Salvation, does not even “ contain” the word, ”Repentance”..... don’t you find that Odd? )
John relates the idea of repentance in his gospel in a roundabout way...however the concept of repentance is there in his gospel.
He teaches that sin is something that people seek in order to be satisified...and that if anyone comes to Christ, they will be satisfied by the Holy Spirit (John 6:35, John 4:13-14, John 7:37-39).
He teaches that if you continue in His word, you are His disciples indeed...and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free indeed (John 8:31-36).
Free indeed, from what?
From committing sin (John 8:34).
Nowhere in the KJV does it say “ repent of SINS in order to be Saved”....
I will give you the short version (you can look up the context on your own time, in Ezekiel 33:11-20)...
Eze 33:19, But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
Does this not translate into the concept that if we repent of sins, we will be saved?
ut ANYBODY can “ Turn to God”..... that is why God said,”Turn to Me and I will Turn to you”.....THAT is a Promise Of God that will get you Saved...
Yes, and God is holy....so, turning to God means to turn to holiness and thus away from unholiness (sin).
Even if one “ could” stop Sinning ( and they can’t) it would be a waste of time .....it would make you a doer Of The Law , which sounds great to “ itchy ears” But “By The Deeds Of The Law— NO Flesh will be Justified”
The doers of the law shall be justified (Romans 2:13).
Now, the underlying reason for justification is faith in Christ, by whom we receive the Holy Spirit (Galatians 3:14). And through the Spirit we bear the fruit of the Spirit; against which there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23). There is no law that will condemn a man who bears the fruit of the Holy Spirit...in bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit we become law-abiding citizens of the kingdom of heaven. If we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, the righteousness of the law will be fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4).
So then, being justified by faith in Christ will result in a man becoming a doer of the law (again, Romans 2:13)...and on the day of judgment, where men will be judged by their works, the fact that they were doers of the law will testify to the fact that they were justified in life by faith in Christ.
Your “ Faith” is in a Work.....Your True Faith is NOT in Trusting in The Blood Of Jesus to Save you....YOUR “ Faith” is in a Super Memory
Speak for yourself. My trust
is in the blood of Jesus; which does not only justify me (as per Romans 5:9)...it also sanctifies me (Hebrews 13:12, Hebrews 10:29) and cleanses me from all sin (1 John 1:7).
And my faith is not in super memory, as I have also answered this accusation before, which you continue to bring against me even though it has been answered...
In my walking in the light as He is in the light, the Holy Spirit is able to pinpoint those sins that He wants to deal with in my heart and life; and as I confess those sins, He is faithful and just to forgive me of those sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. So it has nothing to do with "Super-Memory" but with a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
and a last second of Good Luck so you have the Fortunate timing to Repent Of all of your sins right before you die ( lest we be Damned! Right? )
I will have repented of all of my sins long before I die...and will continue to walk in the new direction to the end of my days. We do not have to fall back into a lifestyle of sinning (see Jude 1:24, 2 Peter 1:10, 1 John 2:10).
