It doesn't say that in Acts 2. That is pure conjecture on your part.

I understand that you have been taught that "repent and be baptized" is "how to become a Christian", as that is the Catholic Cult's idea, that they define as "Baptismal Regeneration".

Their Satanic Bible, the "Douay Rheims" in JOHN 3, is where this hellish lie is found that tries to connect Acts 2, as "water washes away your sin"..

Their Satanic Bible teaches that you are "Born again BY water"..... "BY.. water", and in fact you are not...Noone is born again BY Water.

See you can be water baptized 345 times and die and go to Hell, or a Believer can be born again, and never water baptized and they are already, "in Christ" "one with God", "seated in Heavenly Places".

Why?

Because Jesus said.>"You must be born again" and that is not talking about getting dunked, sprinkled, or submerged in the city water supply.

In regard to these Samaritan believers in this unique situation in Acts 8, there was a delay in receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit until the apostles laid their hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:17)
That is not correct. It was the empowering Holy Spirit that they had not received. That is indicated by the fact that when Peter laid his hands upon them they then began to work miracles. That is the only way Simon could "see that the Spirit was given". The indwelling Holy Spirit is not an observable function. They had received the indwelling Holy Spirit when they were baptized, just as was the case at Pentecost.

You continue to not understand the distinction between the indwelling Holy Spirit given to everyone who believes, repents and is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and the empowering Holy Spirit which was given very selectively.

In Acts 8 they obviously had received the indwelling Holy Spirt when they responded to Philip's preaching. But Philip was not an apostle. He did not have the power to impart the empowering Holy Spirit. That was why Peter and John went to Samaria.

Again, you fail to know and understand the difference in the roles and works of the Holy Spirit.

Born again of water and Spirit is one and the same that occurred with the repentant believers in Acts 2:38. They were baptized in water and they received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Baptismal regeneration is another of your confusions and misunderstanding. I do not believe in nor do I teach baptismal regeneration. Baptismal regeneration is the belief that it is the act of being baptized that is the means of being saved. I do not believe that, I do not teach that. Baptism is the occasion, the time in the repentant believer's life, when God saves.

You have been poorly taught. You are following the faulty precepts of Huldrych Zwingli just as Calvinists follow the faulty precepts of John Calvin.

That is "Baptismal Regeneration" you are teaching.

Its a "water cult" theology. That is a cult teaching, that comes from the Satanic "Douay Rheims" book, that states, (teaches) that you are "born again BY = water".

You're not born again by water, and water is not required to be present when God gives spiritual Birth to a BELIEVER's spirit as "BORN ... again".

Yes, those who heard Peter's "gift of Tongues" and those others who understood Peter's speech, ... who believed... they were water baptized, after they believed and were born again.

However Peter was not water baptized....., nor were those in the UPPER ROOM< = who ALL "spoke with Tongues" before Peter preached to the unbelieving Jews.

You should actually read Acts 2, at some point ( in a bible.).

Any credible Greek Scholar will tell you that you are wrong. It was not because of forgiveness of sin. It was unto the forgiveness of sin. i.e., in order to receive forgiveness of sin.
They could not do this, Because it is proven in scripture itself.

Matt 12: 41 41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.

The people did not get the preaching because they repented. They repented because of the teaching.

Any reputable greek scholar would also know that the word baptize was not given to everyone, unlike the command to repent. in which everyone who repented recieved the gift of the spirit (the gift of the spirit was BEFORE baptism)

Jesus says that you are wrong.

John 6:28 Then they said to him, "What must WE do, to be doing the works of God?"
John 6:29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
No, Try reading Jesus words.

THIS IS THE WORK OF GOD.

Its not their work. it is the work of God that they believe.

Jesus told them in reality. there are no works you can do.. But they could not hear this, because they believed as you. they had to earn salvation by works.

Two thoughts here:

1. So you are saying the scripture is not true.

Ac 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

changes to:

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ because Jesus said so, and you already have the Holy Spirit.
No,

What I have said, and it is in the text.

Peter told everyone to repent (2nd person plural) and they would recieve the gift of the spirit
And then he told them, let everyone of you (who repented) be baptized for (on account of) remission of sin

The origional KJV had it closer. It said repent ye (plural) and let everyone of you (singular)

And this fits with the rest of scripture. especially all the words of Jesus in the book of John, and makes it agree.
2. Yahweh's requirement for His Old Covenant people was that the males be circumcised. It was the New Covenant that no longer distinguished between male and female. For them, Jesus commanded water baptism in His name.

Your understanding is not according to scripture.
No one was saved because they were circumcised. Circumcision was a sign of the covenant made between God and Abraham concerning the nation of Israel. Not a demand that saves anyone.

Col 2 puts it all in perspective

11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, 12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

1. It is not through physical circumcsion we are cleansed.,
2. It is not done by man, it is done by God
3. It occurs through the being baptized in him. which was done by the one who rose Jesus from the dead (not your pastor. but God himself)
4. It is done when God wiped out the handwritten ordinance that was contrary to us and against us (condemned us) by nailing them to the cross.

It has nothing to do with a physical ceremony in either testament, which were/are symbols of what literally happens to us in Christ.

You're not born again by water, and water is not required to be present when God gives spiritual Birth to a BELIEVER's spirit as "BORN ... again".
John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

It says they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. That was not the indwelling Holy Spirit. But you apparently don't understand the difference. But that's okay, it is not that unusual. But that means that you don't really understand much about Acts 2 either.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
you have 2 births there.. Jesus said we must be born again (literally born a second time) he is explaining what this is.

Jesus never mentioned baptism in the passage. You can;t force it into the text.

You have got to be kidding. There is only the rebirth of the spirit.
you can not have a rebirth unless you already had one birth.

You got to be kidding me if you think the birth of the flesh (water) is not important. You would not be here if you were not born of the flesh (water)

No, I just understand what it is and what it isn't.
I disagree with you. You do not understand it at all..

But thats beside the point.. It is not a valid argument to say someone is wrong with no proof.. that would go for both of us, so this is a silly argument

You think to be born again involves a physical rebirth also? Surely not, given Nicodemus' question. Or perhaps you are suggesting that truly nonsensical idea that water refers to aminol fluid of the first birth? Such is not now nor has it ever been a euphemism for physical birth.
