@Ziggy @Bladerunner @Jack

Note the figurative language?

“Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched”

This refers to the worms that continually fed on the dead bodies thrown into the Valley of Hinnom (Gehenna), and to the perpetual fire maintained to consume them.

Here is the problem, if you read the Bible with one dimensional lens how can you know the context?

You are no different to a horse wearing blinkers!

Remove your blinkers and open your gaze!...like Ziggy!
Should I believe your antiBible opinions or should I believe Jesus? Hmmm

We can see why understanding Parables and especially the language used is paramount in forming correct doctrine. False teaching will cause you no end of striff as we are seeing with Jack & Bladerunner.

The Greek word Gehenna, often translated “hell,” comes from the Hebrew Ghi-Hinnom—the Valley of Hinnom, located to the south of Jerusalem. It was here that kings Ahaz and Manasseh sacrificed their sons to Molech (2 Chron. 28:3; 33:6; Jer. 32:35). King Josiah later defiled the site (2 Kings 23:10), and it became known as Topheth (“altar”). In time, the valley was turned into the city’s garbage dump, where refuse and the carcasses of dead animals were burned. What the flames did not destroy, worms consumed.

Thus, when Jesus used the word Gehenna, he was drawing on this imagery to symbolize total and final destruction, not eternal preservation in conscious torment.

It puzzles me how those who believe in eternal preservation in conscious torment miss God's Character and Purpose. It's as though they have taken on a vindictive vengeful spirit - but where did it come from? Where did these mythological beliefs come from?
Hell is gonna be filled with people who don't believe in Hell!

Misinformation, disinformation, self-righteousness (the better than thou approach) , tradition, and even fear itself.
Now the bible does say that those who continue to commit attrocities will remain outside the gates of heaven, in darkness.
What is darkness? It is ignorance of knowing how to reach out to the light.
They have no shame. They live in unbelief. And for many they are comfortable there. Always the victim.
And yet we know there is always hope, even for a dead tree when a little water is applied.

Job 14:7
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

It is sin that is ultimately destroyed in the lake of fire. Consider Joshua...
Zec 3:2
And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

There is always hope.

I answer with Bible. That's what Christians do. Why don't you? Why do you profess to be Christian?

You will believe in HELL, God guaranteed it!

Lot of people living in hell right now and don't even know it.
They are being consumed by hate and anger, depression and hopelessness.
They don't know what love is, they don't know what peace is.
They have been weened on lies and deception from birth.
We have lost an entire generation to self loathing and suicidal tendencies.
They don't even love their own bodies. They have no answers, only fear.
Hell is real, but you don't have to die to experience it.

In Scripture, fire often symbolizes complete destruction rather than eternal torment. Consider these examples:
  • Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire and brimstone and are described as "an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire" (Jude 7; cf. Gen. 19:24). Yet Scripture confirms that these cities were overthrown in an instant (Lam. 4:6) and reduced to ashes (2 Pet. 2:6; cf. Deut. 29:23).
  • Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, were "devoured" by fire from the LORD for their transgression and died instantly (Lev. 10:1-2).
  • Fire from the LORD "consumed" the 250 men who illegally offered incense during the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram (Num. 16:35).
  • Fire came down from God out of heaven and "consumed" the messengers of the king of Samaria during Elijah’s time (2 Kings 1:10).
These examples consistently show fire as a means of judgment and destruction, not as a tool for eternal, conscious torment.

All we can do is educate!

Everything in that post was Scripture!

What we have uncovered is your inability to use the Bible!

Again, you don't have an account anywhere in the Bible that you can pin your doctrine on - all alone!

Must be a terrible place to be...and all you have is a forced interpretation of the Masters words.

How many times did Jesus warn you of THE FIRE? Don't have a clue? Soon you'll believe!
