Are there any sins that once you commit them you cannot be forgiven?
Yes, definitely. The sins we cannot be forgiven for result in God removing His protection, which results in our death. Hence, we know we have committed them if we are dead and in hell.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit / crediting the works of the Spirit to the devil = grieving the Holy Spirit. Now what comes to mind about grieving the Holy Spirit? For me, scripture points to
continuous (sincere repentance is needed to be forgiven 7 x 70 times a day) and
extremities (actual sexual immorality is grounds for divorce not merely the thought of it
). Everyone sins! But certain extremities of sin got Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed immediately! The people of Nineveh repented when Jonah told them God's wrath was coming. Repented of what? Thoughts? They still thought evil thoughts. With billions of fallen angels around us, resisting every thought is impossible. But acting on them is another issue. Lets not be naive, we are going to judge angels. We can surely judge our actions! 1 Cor 11:31 and 1 Cor 6:3.
A simple example is our spouse. There is sin that will not result in divorce and then there is sin that will. According to Jesus the only sin that should / can result in divorce is sexual immorality / adultery. Why? It is because that sin shows an extremity of inner rebellion against your spouse. Continue in it and your spouse will doubtfully ever trust your repentance is sincere! You change your hearts desire for someone else. Your spouse is no longer your first love.
1 Cor 5 sums it up nicely. 1 Cor 5:10-13
Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person.
Putting the evil person away from ourselves is the harshest warning we can send. The next step is God doing likewise. Bottom line is...If we continue in an extremity of sin, we are playing with fire.
