I suppose a good reason for the police to treat citizens with respect instead of looking at them with suspicion might prevent some some people wanting to kill cops. I've met some very pleasant cops and I've met some bad ones. I think the bad ones were more afraid of me than I was of them. They looked at me as if I might have a gun and want to shoot them. Why so suspicious? Why be so afraid of me? I see pictures of some behind shields and all kinds of pprotective gear -- and it tells me they're scared of the people they are supposed to protect and serve. They want hum-vees and pepper spray, stun guns and who knows what else. They look ready to go into battle. They don't look that confident or friendly to me. They looked frightened; and when people are frightened, they can do some weird things -- like your friendly dog can bite you if in pain or fear. They see almost anything as a threat and overact.

I got pulled over last week at night by the state police. I knew why since it's happened before. I deliver papers at night, and they wonder what I'm doing. This cop was very pleasant, told me why he stopped me and he could see the newspapers in my car. No problem at all. Actually that kind of cop makes me feel safer since I know that kind of cop is making the area safer. That's his purpose, and that's what he does. But a few bad apples can spoil the lot -- and police departments in some places have been too lax about getting rid of the bad apples. That's very sad since it make the job of the good cops harder -- and some crazy people may want to kill them, just because they hate all cops after running into a few.

Go look up who the Justices on the Supreme Court were and are. They have the final say in judicial matters. Stop nattering about the "liberal justices in the Supreme Court," and count the number of Catholics many of whom were appointed by Republicans. No, I'll do it for you.

There are five Catholics, three Jews, and one Episcopalian. Obama appointed one Catholic, Republicans four. Democrats appointed all three Jews; and Trump appointed the one Protestant. So right now, there are five Justices appointed by Republican Presidents and only four by Democrats.

Five Republican appointees voted in 2010 in the Citizens United case to overturn the bipartisan bill sponsored by McCain and Feingold. Later decisions under Chief Justice Roberts struck down other campaign contribution restrictions. Legally, for the purposes of doing business, corporations have been deemed "persons" for a long time; but they were not given "civil rights" like free speech or other rights that humans have. It was a Republican dominated court that decided corporations have free speech rights, thus Congress couldn't restrict how much money they spend on political campaigns. If you want to talk about George Soros and the PACs he supports, you need to thank the Republican Supreme Court Justices for saying it's legal. Lots of foreign money gets funnelled into American politics now too with a confusing array of dummy corporations so it's hard to tell where the money's coming from. Too bad for Rudy Giuliani that two of his buddies got busted for that.

Strange that an individual person is not allowed to give over a certain amount of money to a candidate; but if you're rich, you can set up a PAC and spend as much as you want. Trump said he would drain the swamp? Things are more corrupt than before. He pretends to be concerned about mail in ballots. He should be worried about how corporations and foreign money are allowed to dominate the air waves with the same nasty ads over and over. Lies are flying from all sides; and you're buying some of them. If you see an ad that says something bad about Biden, you believe it. If a Democrat sees an ad that says something bad about Trump, he believes it.

I'm beginning to wonder if Susan Rice was right, that either the Russians or Chinese could be behind a lot of the propaganda that is flying around --both pro-Trump and anti-Trump. The purpose is to weaken and confuse the American people. She wasn't saying she knew it because she's not receiving intelligence reports now, but she said it could be true.
