Can you define "heretic"?
The purpose of this thread is to inform people that the term heretic is not always negative.
Wow.
What a great thread SS.
Just saw it.
This happens to be one of my favorite topics regarding the Christian RELIGION.
There are so many heretical ideas floating around this Forum that I've had to recluse myself from it for a
few days to reload.
Christians are SUPPOSED to be united and all believe in the same Christian core doctrines, or what I like to call, tenets - since that's what they are.
OR
The person is NOT of the Christian RELIGION.
Here's what HERETIC means:
Heresy is any teaching that is divorced from orthodox teaching - especially in religions.
Heresy is a moving away from what is taught in the mainline standard of that religion.
Herterodoxy is the opposite....it is in keeping with mainline teachings that define given religion.
That is my own definition.
But it's what it means.
