As our Father led the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt....He leads us away from Egypt (the world) and through the wilderness to prove us! Deuteronomy 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no.
  • Forty signifies a time of probation. Our time in the wilderness, our time of being humbled and proven is three and one half years.
    • Revelation 12:6 (666) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (3 1/2 years)
    The "they" that feed her/us are not only the many "two witnesses" of [Revelation 11:3] but, as shown by the number of the chapter and verse, (12:6, 666) Satan's lies are being offered as meat too. It is our time of being proven to see if we listen to the words of the false prophet or the Word of God. Manna or quail...Spirit or flesh.
    • Deuteronomy 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
8:3 And He humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
  • He calls us and then we hunger to understand, we crave knowledge of Him. Those of us in these end times, His witnesses, are fed manna by His Spirit that we can't receive elsewhere. Man can't teach us nor were those before us taught, (neither did thy fathers know), for it is an end time event. It is the latter rain of [Joel 2:23]. Reserved for the chosen, the first fruits at the last of this age.....
    • Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
8:4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
  • He takes care of us during our wilderness time. He feeds us deeper truths, He clothes us with fine, white linen and prepares us to be the body of Christ, prepares us to allow Christ to walk in us.
8:7-9 For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scareceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which He hath given thee.
  • That of course is the promised land we cross into at the end of this age but...where is the example of that land during this flesh age? It isn't the middle east. It is where the ten tribes of the house of Israel were scattered to....
8:11-12 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping His commandments, and His judgments, and His statutes, which I command thee this day: Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
  • Do we today forget how blessed this nation is? Do we dwell in safety in our homes with laden pantries full of food and yet...forget our Father and His commandments?
8:14-16 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, Which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; Who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that He might humble thee, and that He might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
  • As serpents, scorpions and famine were in the wilderness long ago....they are here again. They are here to prove us, those of us in the latter times.
8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.
