I like this thread and the honest questions
@Bob Estey is asking. The nature of angels (and demons) is perhaps one of the most mystical and misunderstood aspects of modern Christianity. Many people speak about concepts like ‘spiritual warfare’ with considering what, or where the battlefield is. You are the soil upon which blood is spilled.
This should be a wonderful topic and extremely interesting! It could be a sharing of testimonies and what we find when dealing with the Kingdom of God. I like the comment "You are the soil upon which blood is spilled", which shows nice insight. So I will take a chance for those who should be seeking the Kingdom of God. Not that anyone, no matter how often they seek the Kingdom of God, can really grasp. Even Jesus didn't consider the depths of God something to be grasp. Yet we should have a basic understanding, and many many experiences - if indeed we first seeking the Kingdom of God.
First of all the Kingdom of God is not of this world! Jesus said that in the Bible for those preaching the Bible instead of the Kingdom of God. God is spirit (also explained in the Bible) so His Kingdom is spiritual. And of the angels it is written that He made them "winds". That does not mean they are air blowing by you but rather they seem to blow in and out of our lives! Therefore you pick angels up with your spiritual senses, and not you physical senses!!! Although, it can seem as though they are physical if their appearance is extremely clear.
For example; once I was laying down and suddenly I heard Christian songs being sung. Then I had apartments all around me, and I wondered which one of my neighbors were Christian, so I sat up to figure out what apartment it was coming from. Yet as I sat up the sound disappeared. So, I laid back down and again I heard it. So again, I sat up and again it disappeared. I did this several times, even going all around my apartment, until I finally realized the music was not sound waves! It was spiritual and the Lord had provided me the music to give me a nice nap, and insight.
Still, the Kingdom of God is to be asked for everyday (see the Lord's Prayer), and the Lord is not slow to answer like we think (as per the Bible and reality). Therefore, if I (or any Christian) asks and pays attention Today will not only be the day you hear from our Lord Jesus Christ but also the day we find that He sent us angels to help us! So they come and minister to us Today, right? Or did we not ask and pay attention, as the Bible explains?
Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?
The answer to the above verse and question should be (They sure are), yet it is a question and why is that?
The answer to why the verse is a question is found in the "who will inherit salvation" part! Not all say "Yes", but those who will inherit salvation would fully understand this! Ok - not all who will inherit salvation have been Christians very long, so we obviously have to take that into account - and then encourage others to actually seek the Kingdom of God and do that first thing!! And we should also have the advice of not being able to get into the Kingdom of God except via the King (The Lord our God Jesus Christ). So first you need to get to know Him and hear Him on those days called "Today", but if you know the King do you not know anything about His Kingdom? Like perhaps that His Kingdom is spiritual and not of this world. Thus angels are spirits (winds) and not flesh? Should we not even understand that God is spirit, that the Lord our God took on flesh, but was a spiritual being called the Word of God from the beginning?
Anyway, The Lord once sent me 40 angels and I was supposed to figure out their names. That was years ago and they are still often around me. He didn't take them away after He sent them to me, as far as I could tell. I never figured out all their names, but their names go with their personalities and what they do. Praise was the name of the angel who was in front of them when they showed up! Judah means praise and Judah was generally put-up front when the tribes went to war or moved around. And there is a connection between all that and why most Christian churches begin their services with Praise! It turns out the God has patterns that He uses - not that He has to send you 40 angels. Mostly you are contacted by one or two, but it can be a lot more!
To the right of Praise was Joy and to the left of Praise was Reason, though he told me His name was not exactly Reason but that would do. He like to minister according to the verse in Isaiah 1 where the Lord says come reason with me. Indeed, in a church service do you not soon find Joy when Praise arrives. And it does not take too long before someone is behind the podium and reasoning with you, right? And have we never gotten up some morning and a Chrisitan praise song is going in our head? Well my friends, if that happens first thing in the morning do you not understand that the Kingdom of God is present? And it should be happening sometimes, right?
Behind Praise I found an angel called Focus. He did not look impressive like Praise who was like a blond haired pretty boy, or like Joy (who appears like a huge powerful Viking like character with long blond hair and muscles well defined. Even reason look strong though more studious with his brown well place hair that made him look like a Clark Kent type of character. Focus on the other hand looks rather normal and nondescript, like a friend you know personally but don't think about much.
And when the angels ministered to you, you picked up a lot of interesting knowledge and quickly. For example Focus pointed out that when the who fell angels fell, they of course used their personalities and skills for evil (to fight against the work of God) So an angel of Focus which serves the Lord helps you focus on our Lord Jesus Christ and what He personally asks you to do, where as a fallen angel of Focus bring confusion and points you away from our Lord and doing what He wants you to do!! And all the angels had much to explain and help me with, but I don't have time here to explain all they ministered to me of the 20 plus years the Lord has sent them to minister to me.
It is enough to know to seek first the Kingdom of God, of which Jesus Christ is the King and the door to that Kingdom. Therefore we seek the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom, and refute and reprove those who don't; telling them also to seek the door (Jesus Christ) to the Kingdom of God!!
Still - the unholly, pretending to know the Lord but don't, like to trample in the mud (the dirt and water of this earth) the things you tell them.
Still, I can tell them that the angels are "winds/ spirits. That they are not fleshy being (of course they are not even if for a moment you thought they were). Only Jesus came down out of heaven and took on flesh (which is also explained in the Bible). They are indeed ministering spirit sent by the Lord to those who will inherit salvation (and hopefully that is all who read this, but how many know they have been ministered to? We all should and even on that day called "Today". Still that is a question "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?" your answer will tend to tell you where you stand with the Lord or Lords and King of Kings!!
And if anyone wants to talk about this very interesting subject, I would love to fellowship with them, but if they are just those tampling about in the mud my message to you is to seek first the Kingdom of God!! That is what we preach:
Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
