No replies to this?

I was just listening to Timothy B. Schmidt singing The Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why." Smooth stuff. Easy on the frontal lobe.

I've got Filter, "Hey Man Nice Shot". What about you?

I used to hear that at work about 20 years ago. Do you know what that song was written about? It was about that disgraced politician who offed himself on live TV in Harrisburg in '87.

That's a good one.
I still have that in a stack of CDs somewhere. Along with...
Sound garden Super-unknown, Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream, et all...

September 11th created quite a culture shock for Millennials. Songs about hideous stuff got to be pretty trendy. Some got an early start, though. Porcupine Tree comes to mind.

I got into "Progressive Metal" a little during a backsliding episode. Can't listen to it anymore. As complex and interesting as some of the compositions are, they're just too hard on a person's spirituality. I believe my great-grandmother was right—the devil makes very compelling music and doesn't keep it to himself.

I stick mainly to Sacred and Classical nowadays but I hear what's playing around me by household members. I tried ruling the roost with an iron fist once but the other cluckers wouldn't let me. Sometimes I'm able to broker compromises, though.

I do manage to keep Bro Country out of earshot. My daughter is the only one who ever tries to push it and I think I have her fooled into believing I can take her. ;)

Bach's Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 and a hot cup of Hop and Catnip tea with a couple of Lavender Oil capsules. Then I'll have an April Fools' Day nap. Wonder how that would work?

There was a song writing challenge on a songwriting forum to write a Pandemic song.
I hadn't planned to write one until I got an idea that I thought would work... Here it it. (I did everything on this one)

Title: That Thing Goin' 'Round (special thanks to Andrea, RK and Aaron G)
Track Time: 06:00 Tempo: 135 BPM

VS 1
Have you heard about it -
COVID-19 goin' 'round?
Seems to be spreadin' -
all over town

Hard to keep from gettin' -
you down
That corona virus -
has been given a crown

Have you heard about (it)
that thing goin' 'round? (2x)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CH
Have you heard 'bout it?
That thing goin' 'round
Across the sea - over hill and dale
Target-ing - both strong and frail
Challenges that we all share
Soon will be found everywhere
Have you heard about
that thing goin' 'round?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

VS 2
Have you heard about it -
that virus goin' 'round?
Gotta keep your distance
or you're goin' down

Cover your mouth
and wash your hands
That's the news
across the land

Have you heard about
that thing goin' 'round?

CH

VS 3
Have you heard about it -
shortages goin' 'round?
The world ran out of toilet rolls,
hand sanitizer and pasta to boil

The store shelves are empty
but the parking lot is full
Infection rates are rising
as the stock markets fall

Have you heard about
that thing goin' 'round?

CH

VS 4
Have you heard about it -
isolation goin' 'round?
Can't go to the office -
they're all closed down

Caught on camera
helping folks who need ya
As evidence trending now
on social media

Have you heard about
that thing goin' 'round?

CH/ending -- slower
We're now in a downward spiral
I hope at least this song goes viral

And if we're brought down to our knees
don't forget to look up please

Take care of the ones you love
We'll survive with some help from above

Have you heard about
that thing goin' 'round?

1812 Overture a few minutes ago.
I think that's my all time favorite classical piece. I especially like the choral version. Knowing what it's about always brings me to tears, as the church bells ring in thankfulness to God for their deliverance.

Much love!
