In 2014 Pope Francis addressed Muslims at the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, but refused to deal with the truth. This was brought up in another thread.

In that address, he chose to deceive himself and his hearers (but the Muslims were not deceived). Just Suras 2 & 3 of the Quran reveal exactly how Islam views Christians and Muslims.
The pope said: “I am particularly happy, therefore, to be with you, dear Muslim friends.”
It is impossible for Muslims to be dear friends with Christians, because their holy book forbids such a relationship:
Quran 3:28. Believers [Muslims] are not to take disbelievers [Christians and Jews] for friends instead of believers. Whoever does that has nothing to do with Allah, unless it is to protect your own selves against them. Allah warns you to beware of Him. To Allah is the destiny.
Quran 3:118. O you who believe! Do not befriend outsiders who never cease to wish you harm. They love to see you suffer. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their hearts conceal is worse. We have made the messages clear for you, if you understand.
Quran 2:105. It is never the wish of the disbelievers from among the People of the Book [Jews], nor of the polytheists [Christians], that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But Allah chooses for His mercy whomever He wills. Allah is Possessor of Sublime Grace.
Quran 2:111. And they say, “None will enter Heaven unless he is a Jew or a Christian.” These are their wishes. Say, “Produce your proof, if you are truthful.”
Quran 2:120. The Jews and the Christians will not approve of you, unless you follow their creed. Say, “Allah’s guidance is the guidance.” Should you follow their desires, after the knowledge that has come to you, you will have in Allah neither guardian nor helper.
Quran 2:135. And they say, “Be Jews or Christians, and you will be guided.” Say, “Rather, the religion of Abraham, the Monotheist; he was not an idolater.”
Quran 2:145. Even if you were to bring to those who were given the Book every proof, they would not follow your direction, nor are you to follow their direction, nor do they follow the direction of one another. And if you were to follow their desires, after the knowledge that has come to you, you would be in that case one of the wrongdoers.
The pope said: “At this moment I think of Abraham, who lived as a pilgrim in these lands. Muslims, Christians and Jews see in him, albeit in different ways, a father in faith and a great example to be imitated.”
But the Abraham of the Quran is NOT the Abraham of the Bible:
Quran 3: 67. Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a Monotheist, a Muslim. And he was not of the Polytheists.
Quran 2:125. And We made the House [the Ka’aba in Mecca] a focal point for the people, and a sanctuary. Use the shrine of Abraham as a place of prayer. And We commissioned Abraham and Ishmael, [not Isaac] “Sanctify My House for those who circle around it, and those who seclude themselves in it, and those who kneel and prostrate.” [Note: Circling around the Ka’aba is idolatry]
Quran 2: 127. As Abraham raises the foundations of the House [the Ka’aba in Mecca], together with Ishmael, [not Isaac] “Our Lord, accept it from us, You are the Hearer, the Knower.
Quran 2: 132. And Abraham exhorted his sons, and Jacob, “O my sons, Allah [not the LORD God Almighty] has chosen this religion for you, so do not die unless you have submitted.”
The pope said “We are experiencing a fraternal dialogue and exchange which are able to restore us and offer us new strength to confront the common challenges before us... Dear friends, from this holy place I make a heartfelt plea to all people and to all communities who look to Abraham: may we respect and love one another as brothers and sisters!”
A “fraternal dialogue can only be between brothers and sisters, not enemies committed to destroying the “infidels”. Yet the pope called Muslims “brothers and sisters”. That is either (1) a blatant lie or (2) total self-deception.
Quran 3: 19. Religion with Allah is Islam. Those to whom the Scripture was given differed only after knowledge came to them, out of envy among themselves. Whoever rejects the signs of Allah—Allah is quick to take account.
Quran 3: 85. Whoever seeks other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.
Quran 3: 91. As for those who disbelieve and die disbelievers, even the earth full of gold would not be accepted from any of them, were he to offer it for ransom. These will have a painful torment, and will have no saviors.
Quran 3: 151. We will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they attribute to Allah partners for which He revealed no sanction. [a reference to the Holy Trinity] Their lodging is the Fire. Miserable is the lodging of the evildoers.
Quran 2: 62. Those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabeans—any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and act righteously—will have their reward with their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
Quran 2: 90. Miserable is what they sold their souls for—rejecting what Allah has revealed, out of resentment that Allah would send down His grace upon whomever He chooses from among His servants. Thus they incurred wrath upon wrath. And there is a demeaning punishment for the disbelievers.
Quran 2:193. And fight them until there is no oppression, and worship becomes devoted to Allah alone. But if they cease, then let there be no hostility except against the oppressors.
Quran 2:216. Fighting is ordained for you, even though you dislike it. But it may be that you dislike something while it is good for you, and it may be that you like something while it is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know.
Quran 2: 244. Fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
Quran 3:12. Say to those who disbelieve, “You will be defeated, and rounded up into Hell—an awful resting-place.”
