Hello,
If Jesus arrived six days before the Passover at Bethany, what day of the week did he arrive? I would suggest that Jesus arrived at Bethany just after the Sun set on the Friday, our timeframe, and spent the Sabbath day in Bethany before riding the young colt into Jerusalem. The crowds waited for the sun to go down before they streamed out towards Bethany to see Jesus. Bethany was around a 15-minute walk from Jerusalem, so, Jesus rode the Colt towards Jerusalem and turned towards the Temple, entered it, looked around and then returned to Bethany to sleep in the house he was staying at.
The Last Supper occurred on the Wednesday evening, our time frame, which was Thursday with respect to the Jewish time frame. Jesus was arrested just before first light on the Thursday morning, brought before the High Priest, Pilate etc. and then taken out to the Hill where he was crucified by around 9:00 am, our time. Jesus died around 3:00 pm on the Thursday evening and was placed in the tomb before the sun set and the day ended.
I would suggest that Jesus died on the fifth day of the Jewish week, which is a Thursday with respect to our time frame.
Of course, all of this is relative to the time of the day in Jerusalem with respect to when the sun rose and set to define the start and finish of a day.
Shalom
