Amen! it's Spirit baptism (not water baptism) that places us "into the body of Christ."

Yes.

We are put into Christ by God, thru the Holy Spirit.
We are Born again INTO the Spirit of God by the Spirit of God.
This is why the born again are "ONE" with God and Christ.
This is how we become "IN Christ".
It is indeed a spiritual end result that is created by the Spirit of God, and certainly not by the city water system.

I'm sorry for you, but scripture really does say into water...

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized(G907) into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

G907
βαπτίζω
baptizō

Thayer Definition:
1) to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk)
2) to cleanse by dipping or submerging, to wash, to make clean with water, to wash one’s self, bathe
3) to overwhelm

God Bless!

In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.

*Also compare the fact that these Gentiles in Acts 10:45 received the gift of the Holy Spirit (compare with Acts 2:38 - the gift of the Holy Spirit) and this was BEFORE water baptism (Acts 10:47).

In Acts 10:43 we read ..whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins. Again, these Gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 10:45 - when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ - Acts 11:17 - (compare with Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved) BEFORE water baptism - Acts 10:47. This is referred to as repentance unto life - Acts 11:18.

*So the only logical conclusion when properly harmonizing Scripture with Scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18). *Perfect Harmony*
Amen the misinterpretation of acts 2 have led many to a false understanding

To automatically read "baptism" into John 3:5 simply because it mentions "water" is unwarranted. *See post #17.
Amen. Plus. If Jesus was talking about baptism. He left it out when he told Nicodemus HOW to be born again whe said it is faith. Not faith plus baptism which leads to eternal life (born again)

Thank you for your input. Here are a few New Testament scriptures other than Mark 16:16...

John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Except a man be born of born or water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

1 Peter 3:20-21 "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:"

Romans 6
3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Thanks again for your input.
Keep up the good work,
God Bless!
John 3. No mention of baptism
Mark 16. No mention what type of baptism
Rom 6. Not water baptism but spirit baptism

We have become the righteousness of God, by declaration only. But we ourselves are not righteous.

Stranger

A born again believer is just as sinless as the righteousness of God can make them, thru the Blood Atonement.
There is no sin in Christ, and we are "in Christ".
The purpose of God coming here was to fulfill the law, which establishes Grace, and to become our sin, which resolved our sin issue that allowed God to give us His Righteousness as our OWN.
Jesus as God on the Cross didn't just forgive sin, .. HE BECAME our sin... And not just ours, but the sin of the world.
The blood atonement pays for the sin of the world, tut its not applied unless the person comes to the Cross and is saved. = born again.
SALVATION, is always waiting to save everyone, but not everyone will come to the Cross and be forgiven and born again.

So, "the gift of Righteousness" that we receive as our "justification by faith", is God's own Righteousness.
The question is.... how RIGHTEOUS is God's righteousness? How HOLY is "the Gift of Righteousness", that we receive.
= Its SINLESS PERFECTION
And not only do we receive it by Faith, but by being born again as a "new creation IN CHRIST" this righteousness BECOMES US.
Its our new IDENTITY.....we are become 'IN CHRIST"....this is who we are if we are born again. We are born again AS the sinlessness of Christ and born again INTO the very Spirit of God, by the Spirit of God.
God had to restore us to 1st Adam position, and did so, by way of the 2nd Adam who is Jesus THE Christ.

look at this NT verse....and believe it.

"as Jesus IS........so ARE.....the born again, ... IN THIS WORLD".

So, is there any sin in Jesus?
And YOU if you are born again, are "IN CHRIST" and Jesus is in YOU.
The reason a born again person has eternal life, is because JESUS IS ETERNAL LIFE< and He is in us, if we are born again.
Salvation, is JESUS
Grace, is JESUS
The BLood Atonement, is JESUS
You go to heaven because of JESUS.
Believe the verse that says. "as Christ is so are the born again in this WORLD".... and see yourself as God has made you to be..
The born again are "made righteous"....by God, thru the blood of Jesus.
This is why we are not to think of ourselves as "sinners".
We were sinners before we were born again...
The unbelievers are sinners.....so, READER, do not equate yourself to those Christ Rejectors.....but instead see yourself as God sees you always.
You are "the righteousness of God, IN CHRIST"..

Born again, is to start life in the Holy Spirit and walk with Jesus.

Without the Holy Spirit we cannot be a believer.
Without the Holy Spirit we do not know Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God
Without the Holy Spirit we do not have communion with the Lord and cannot be guided by the Spirit.

The fruit of being born again is a repentant heart and a desire to walk righteously and abandon evil.
Some have explained this as burning down the house of sin and walking on the path of life with God.

Yes.

We are born again= INTO THE SPIRIT OF GOD =by the Spirit of God.
We are now and forever "ONE" with God and Christ.

Salvation is this... :

= "God who began salvation in the Born again, will HIMSELF be Faithful to Complete it".. Philippians 1:6

Reader do you see that? That is God Himself on the Cross, that is God giving the new Birth, and that is God Himself keeping you saved.

Reader.....ETERNAL LIFE.....is ETERNAL......its not temporary. And JESUS IS ETERNAL LIFE.
Do you have Him? Did you Trust Him to save you? Did you take Him as your Savior?
Then JESUS who IS ETERNAL LIFE< is IN YOU.....and you will go to Heaven.
Never doubt this. Never worry about this...but instead REJOICE in the goodness of God who HIMSELF has made you complete 'IN CHRIST".
You belong to GOD. You are "bought with a PRICE"......= The blood of Jesus.
You are GOD's. You belong to Him. He will never let you go. Look at what it cost Him to have you.
Do you see the LOVE?
Do......you.......see.......the .......LOVE?

God Himself, is your Salvation......"Christ in YOU, your Hope of Glory".

When you Trusted Christ....God took your faith, justified you forever, and Gave you His Righteousness. But more so, He took the Responsibility of your Salvation upon Himself..
You wil go to Heaven because God took on the responsibility ON THE CROSS, to get you there.

God said......Give me your faith in CHRIST and i will take it from there.....and if you are born again, He has you, He will keep you, and you can rest in this GRACE and TRUTH.
You belong to GOD if you are born again. You are HIS, forever.

My previso is we are His forever if we fulfil His promise.
The Lords gift is forgiveness, on the basis we walk in it and walk His ways.

It is like a burglar who says after openning the front door of a house, it is all theirs to destroy, not theirs to use for the benefit of all.
Jesus is like the house owner inviting in the people on the street to share in His wealth and bounty, but expects the response to be responsible and in kind.

If the guests turn out of be robbers, they will be expelled and destroyed.

If one follows this logic, every statement must be a long contract of what is included and what is excluded from each statement.
It would mean nothing could actually be shared, without the explanation.

What I love about Jesus and His people, is they know the context and walk in it, growing each day. It is this faith that the elect know the way, means we do not need continual reminders of what should be included and excluded. It also suggests to me some have little faith that God keeps His elect on the right road, but rather the elect need certain brethren to put them right :)

May I say I believe God will bring His purposes to fruition 100%, amen.

.

You just made a liar out of Paul, Christ on the Cross, and God in heaven.
They all say that Salvation is a FREE GIFT. They all say that Righteousness is "The Gift of Righteousness".

You just said that they are liars, as you just refuted the Grace of God and denied the Cross.

My advice to you, followhim.... is to not teach LEGALISM on a Christian Forum, as this offends the Holy Spirit.

Being immersed in the blood of Christ which washes our sins away

God does not give something of His He may have to take back. He does not give us His Righteousness. We may reflect His Glory, but only because we are in good standing. If nothing changes, at the judgement, He gives us a Crown, but not His Crown.

God does not take back Everlasting=Eternal Life.
Its impossible for Christ and the Holy Spirit to leave the body of the born again.
We are JOINED to God and Christ.
This is FOREVER.
And all Christians are "Justified by faith", so, this never changes, which is why, "Jesus who saved us, Keeps us saved".

Stop teaching legalism, Fred.

Everything about a Christian is fluid until the judgement. Our soul, until then is subject to die. The Holy Spirit does not stay in a sinner who rejects Him after accepting Him. If you thinK the Holy Spirit “never” leaves us when there is a reason to, you are just about on the verge of losing it forever. Salvation is a gift for creating the Father and the Right, but it is what we are here for and we must have earned it, or He wouldn’t give it. Legalism! Jesus is our advocate, which is a legal term. How are you to know the extent of God’s Plan, if you don’t get a Concordance, and check out the legally correct definitions?

Then God lied when 3 times he inspired Paul to tell us we are sealed with the spirit UNTIL the day of redemption

There is a dilemma here. It is the hiring people for a trial period and then firing them, or all hired people are permanent from the start no matter how badly they turn out.

Jesus's parables declare rubbish disciples are got rid of. The apostles declared some taste of God and the Holy Spirit and return to the world. Paul seems to feel it is hard once redeemed to lose such a redemption, except he is very careful to prepare the christians for making sure they are in right standing with God or else it is all in vain.

Now this is language of great promise but also purpose and objective. So Gods work in us, is Gods work, and there are weeds among us who do not know Jesus. So who is speaking when some claim being like Jesus is a lie, a false gospel and a trampling on the cross?

I would much rather listen to Jesus and press on because that is where my heart is, in Him. If others are compromising in being in Jesus, do they actually know Him at all, or as John says, if you hate your brother you do not know God.

There is a problem here, with this line of thinking

God does not hire us

he adopts us as his children we were orphans he paid the price of adoption and Adopted us as children.

Are you sinless? No. This is why the Righteousness you are covered in is a declared Righteousness. It works and it is so. But it is not so because you are righteous. It is so because you have been declared righteous by God. Big difference.

God didn't restore us into the position of the 1st Adam. What a let down that would be. God elevated us into 'born' sons of God. Not just 'made' by Him, but of Him. And, as a side note, don't call Christ the 2nd Adam. He is never the 2nd Adam. He is the Last Adam and the Second Man. Big difference.

Why do you refer me to a New Testament verse but don't give it's reference?

This is wrong

using this defenition the passage would say

and do you know know that your were baptized into water into Christ....

One might read it like this...
Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized(G907-through water) into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Which again, the "water" component of the Born Again experience.

immersed in water is ONE possible defenition it is not inclusive

in romans 6 christ is the object wherein we are baptized into

That does not mean we should dismiss it either. Consider God's plan for building the ark was SPECIFIC and ESSENTIAL, and God's plan for building the tabernacle in the wilderness was SPECIFIC and ESSENTIAL. Likewise, God's plan of salvation is SPECIFIC and ESSENTIAL! We must understand AND comply with God's SPECIFIC and ESSENTIAL plan for water baptism in order to be accepted by Him! A popular saying among denominationalists today is, "Baptism is an outward sign of an inward work." If the Bible says that baptism is an outward sign of an inward work, then baptism is an outward sign of an inward work. Years ago, when I first heard that saying I searched it out and just couldn't find any place that said anything baptism being a "sign" of anything to anyone.

Thank you,
God bless!
