Hi DNB,
Since no where specifically does Scripture say that we are to stop holding fast to the traditions we were taught by word of mouth then I will hold fast to the traditions we are taught.
The word of mouth traditional teaching that Mary was assumed should not be disregarded since is it a tradition that is taught.
Mary
Mary, that was a frivolous response. Absence of evidence, is not evidence of absence. Plus, you didn't once show any concern for the source of your tradition.
I said clearly what the divinely inspired Patriarchs, Prophets and Apostles established, and was later written down for their progeny, is as far as tradition goes.
You did not express any guidelines, nor show any regard for the need to scrutinize from where one receives tradition.
And, I stand to be corrected:
Deuteronomy 4:2
2 You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Deuteronomy 12:32
32. Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it
Revelation 22:18-19
18I testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
19And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book.
