I posted “monotheism” because I’m being told by a “Christian” member that Jesus never spoke of nor taught monotheism and that Christianity isn’t monotheistic.

One can be a monotheist and not be a Christian. One cannot be a Christian and not be a monotheist.

Monotheism

Here where we get into deep water. Yes, there is but one God. 1 Corinthians 8:6. But God sent His only begotten Son to the earth to redeem and free mankind from sin and it's consequences. That Mediator, the Son of God, inherited all the divine attributes and characteristics of His Father, and therefore can justifiably and correctly be addressed as God. In order to be a Christian, one must accept, aside from what I wrote previously, that Jesus is a true ontological Son of the Father. I am not talking about a trinity. I'm talking about what the apostle John wrote about and set out to prove in his Gospel and letters.
