The correct explaination is in Post 186
Usually the primary push for Wednesday to be the day of the crucifixion is that people think there should be a full three day cycle between Christ's death on the Cross and His resurrection but that is a misunderstanding
People get confused because they are not educated on the Jewish culture and the circumstances.....LOL....For one, no Rolex wrist watches....no stop watches. If they were wondering approximate what time it is during the day, they looked up at the Sun. The Jewish day starts more or less at sunset....it is not digital....a bell does not ring.
A day is a day.....if you see the Sun it is daytime....a day. No one standing by ready to count the hours off between Christ's death and His resurrection. Approximately 39 hours between it is finished to His resurrection from the tomb, but they could see the Sun three times. Another mystery solved.
The Johnny Appleseed of truth.....Be good and do good!
So on Friday they only saw the sun once, Saturday? So Jesus was dead for less than 12 hours of sunlight? The Romans declared him dead, and the disciples stole the body. Good enough for a dead criminal, who they denied was their Messiah.
You accept their opinions whole heartedly then?
A day is just the 12 hours of daylight and then the night watches. So how many days of sunlight did they need? 3 or 1?
Lazarus was in the grave 4 days.
"Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days."
Lazarus was dead longer than Jesus was and you all deny he had a resurrection, but given back his dead leprosy ridden body.
