No, we're NOT in the Tribulation / Yes, we ARE in the Tribulation, -- how do we tell?

Knowing when the "great tribulation" starts shouldn't be that difficult, since Lord Jesus told us in His Olivet discourse. But it's obvious many brethren don't know because men's doctrines are busy telling those that Christ's Olivet discourse is either already history, or not written for the Church, that's why they don't know.
Per Jesus in Matthew 24, the event that kicks off the time of great tribulation is the placing of the "abomination of desolation" idol in the temple in Jerusalem. That will begin the latter 1260 day half of Daniel's symbolic final "one week" of Dan.9:27. It is the time of trouble mentioned in Daniel 12:1 about the end.
Time to wake up, there's a major reason why the "abomination of desolation" and time of trouble prophecies were given in the Book of Daniel. It's because what Daniel and his fellows went through in captivity to Babylon serves as a type for the endtime tribulation Jesus warned of for just prior to His return. What was it that Daniel suffered? For 3 years he was to eat the king's meat and drink the king's wine so as to be healthy when presented to the king after 3 years. The 3 years is symbolic for the first half of Daniel's symbolic "one week". So for 3 years, Daniel was well taken care of, exalted by the king of Babylon even because of God giving him to interpret Neb's dream.
When the false prophets led Neb to make an idol and decree that all bow in worship to it at the sound of the psalter or be killed, that is when Daniel and his fellows faced trouble, because they refused to bow to it. Yet Christ delivered them through it. The same things as a 'type' will happen to Christ's Church in the coming great tribulation also. Christ' faithful are to make a 'stand' for Him, just as Daniel and his fellows did in Babylon. The type of stand is being prepared to give a Testimony by The Holy Spirit against them.
