The day is laid out from Creation when it was made, and the time is from sunset on the sixth day, Friday to sunset at the end of the seventh day, Saturday....
Many people get confused as to when the Sabbath is, to say nothing of those who brought in Sunday as a day of worship. The Sabbath is and has been from Creation on the seventh-day, but when does it begin. Well if you look in scripture in Genesis, chapter 1, whenever a new day of creation is declared, it says, "and the evening and the morning were the first (or second, or third, etc.) day".

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
