How come? It's scriptural.
You are calling the God of Israel, the devil.

SG...it was me who mentioned 'barrow'... post #201
A barrow is something you push or carry....it's used as a metaphor and in this context for what you primarily carry in your message.
In your case right from the outset its predestination.....subsequently my questions.
Please ask if you don't know.
By the way, I think bbyrd009 has his own dictionary......it's a worry keeping up but I'm sure he'll clarify if you get on his case.
I would not assume everyone is wicked and estranged from the womb. That says "the wicked" are. Should we believe God wants the whole human race wiped out? If we interpret "the wicked" to mean everyone, we would have to believe God wants everyone dead.
Psalm 104:35 Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Praise ye the Lord.
Why did God love Jacob and hate Esau before they were born? Why was one elect and the other not? Circumcision didn't have a thing to do with that.
What the Bible does say is that God does not punish children for the sins of their parents.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
I would say baptism does exist in the Old Testament. The Jews say Pharaoh's daughter was going to the Nile to be baptized. Maybe you can't believe that; but we also read that Israel was baptized in the sea and in the cloud. I infer as well that the whole earth was baptized by the Flood of Noah.
1 Corinthians 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
The elect are not wicked from the womb.
Psalm 22:9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
The elect are "known" by God before they are born -- the non-elect are not known by God in that way. "Know" in "foreknow" means "to have a relationship" not "know about" as some suppose. The elect are "formed in the womb" by God.
Isaiah 42:2 Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.
Isaiah 49:5 And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength.
The Children of Israel were over four hundred years after Abraham. Who do you think commanded Israel to kill those nations? And why?
Nephilim ...? Had God allowed them to continue "breeding", more evil would be unleashed on the human race...JMO.
Yes, they were Nephilim. That is what Goliath was.
Yes, the "giants"! I know this is quite the issue with agnostics and atheists, trying to make God a monster when He wiped them out because of His mercy and justness.
Exactly! But they disobeyed God and did not wipe them out, thus all of Israel's troubles today.
I spent about three years talking to a Jew on the internet and he regularly told me the God of the Jews was the God of no other nation. Well my God is the Saviour of the world and not one nation, so that rules out the God of the Jews to my mind. Jesus was more certain and forthright when he spelled out who the God of the Jews was in John 8:44. We can see it clearly in the Old Testament, laid out before us in black and white. You are calling the God of Israel, the devil.
God can send fire and brimstone and other calamities. He does not need our help, we will all be fighting in the street if we continue like this, some people do, but followers of Jesus, never. We do not need that sort of talk. How about keeping on the straight and narrow path so as not to loose our salvation.Exactly! But they disobeyed God and did not wipe them out, thus all of Israel's troubles today.
Thank you.
You believe the man Spurgeon teaching is sound. I believe the men of The Churches teaching is sound.
You can go to this website for questions regarding my faith: Catechism of the Catholic Church
Where can I go for questions regarding your faith? CARM.org?
You say water doesn’t cleanse us. Scripture says different (Acts 22:16). Soooooo....What are you waiting for Spurgeon follower? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away!
They should not have been killing anybody, if they had been faithful, God would have led them peacefully into the promised land, the same as he led them out of Egypt. That was the plan. But they were disobedient. In other words, they were the bad guys killing their own cousins. They followed other gods, so God allowed them to be killed instead. That's God's justice for you.Exactly! But they disobeyed God and did not wipe them out, thus all of Israel's troubles today.
Hi,I have a copy of the Catholic Catechism. Thankyouverymuch.
If you want to know more about my faith, I suggest a book known as the Holy Bible. You can also learn more from Matt Slick at CARM. I believe the forums are down, but the teachings are still there. You can also learn from John MacArthur, John Piper, Jeff Durbin, James White, Dan Wallace, Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, John Newton, R. Albert Mohler, Voddie Baucham, John Calvin, Cornelius Van Til, John Bunyan, J.I Packer, Matthew Henry.
I have read it in context. Have you?Acts 22:16, has a context, you should read it. For Paul it meant having obedience to the God. Jesus had already shed his blood. Surely you don't think that mere water is salvific, or do you? If Jesus had not shed His blood, what good would H2O do? Read up on the Damascus Road. It's also instructive to understand that the author of Acts is Luke.
You might convert the agnostics and atheists if you point out the creator would never have killed his created. That would be like a mother killing her child.Yes, the "giants"! Then God is being very active killing people in volcanic eruptions, forest fires, tsunami, Covid 19, global warming etc. The superstitious ancients put everything down to God, but the killing of nation by nation is undeniably human."...the creator would never have killed his created."
Oh, but He did, didn't He? Remember the flood?

When are we going to see some repentance instead of people following the god of this world.
They ARE Gods children, but they are disobedient, and neither should we take our lead from them. We know that from the remnant. They always have been disobedient. We should be evangelizing them and leading them to Christ. Except I know it is an impossible task.So if the Children of Israel were not God's people, then why write about them throughout the Old Testament. After all Jesus came to them for the fall or rise of many in Israel. No other nation is mentioned.
You need to rephrase your question because the bodies of aborted babies go into an incinerator to be burnt or they are sold off by planned parenthood for medical research.
