Grace is not a divine permission for us to continue living as we did before, it is the power of God that empowers us to live differently. Some people take this glorious message and turn it into something that God never intended, if God is so merciful and always forgives us, why should we strive so hard to avoid sin or if grace covers everything, what is the problem with giving in to our desires. This logic seems to make sense to the carnal mind, but it completely ignores what the Bible teaches about holiness. Sound doctrine will seem too heavy, too demanding, too inconvenient for the lifestyle people want to build and when the truth starts to really bother, the natural movement is to seek a substitute that still seems spiritual, still uses the name of God, still meets on Sundays, but does not touch any part of the heart.
Amen, thank you..

I love that paraphrase of the scripture. It also reminds me of the teachings as contained in , The Book NLT Bible version.

Great testimony.

I believe walking in holiness is synonymous with happiness.
Temptation is not sin, but its sin’s sedative hallway and hallways were never made for standing still. If you linger in that hallway long enough, your feet will move and when they do, it’s rarely toward holiness. The end of the world is not the collapse of God’s plan, it is the moment when the rightful King takes his throne. Psalm 2:1, why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? David is not confused, he is astonished. Why do the nations rage? Why do peoples conspire? Why does the world resist its creator? David is not describing a single war, he seeing a pattern, a future moment, when the world would move in one direction, together in defiance. This rage is not random, it is coordinated, it is intentional, the nations are not simply angry, they are aligning, a world united not in peace, but in rebellion.

There times that people have a hard time understanding the scripture.....here is one of them.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son......
John 3:16, God gave his only son, the cost behind the love, love is proven not by words, but by what it is willing to give. Jesus did not say God felt love, he said God gave and what he gave was not excess, not convenience, not something replaceable, he gave his only son. These words carry a weight that cannot be rushed past, to give a son is to give the future, to give an only son is to give everything. This was not a poetic phrase meant to sound dramatic, it was a declaration of cost, God’s love would not remain distant or theoretical, it would step into flesh, it would walk among those who misunderstood it, it would endure rejection, betrayal, silence and suffering. The giving began not at the cross, but at the incarnation, when heaven chose limitation and eternity stepped into time, Jesus knew where this road led.

God so loved the world....
Pretty simple, cannot be twisted.
What He gave showed the extent of His love.
Again pretty simple.

Belief admits that effort cannot save, knowledge cannot redeem and morality cannot restore what sin has broken, belief is an act of humility before it is an act of faith. John 3:16, this may be one reason Jesus did not say whoever behaves or whoever achieves, he said believes. Faith is the only response that matches grace, anything else turns salvation into a transaction, belief shifts the focus from what you bring to what God has done and that makes it accessible to everyone and controllable by no one.

I think you might be right, but it has little to do with God's love for the world.
I think between the two verses I think the meaning hinges on the two meanings of the word world.

The word “whoever” still echoes today, it stands as an open door, not a pressure tactic, God does not force belief, love invites and belief becomes the point, where divine grace meets human response. Jesus speaks of perishing, a word many prefer to skip, redefine or ignore, but Jesus did not avoid it, because ignoring danger is not love, warning is part of rescue. To perish is not merely to cease existing, it is to be separated from the life God intended, it is the slow erosion of purpose, peace and hope, culminating in eternal separation from God. Jesus spoke of this not with delight, but with urgency, John 3:16 is not a threat, it is a lifeline, it assumes danger, because danger is real.

Israel’s God explicitly commanded them to not make any idol images, because in the Bible, all humanity is God’s image. Adam and Eve, in Hebrew, their names mean human “Adam” and life “Eve,” they’re called God’s image, which means they represent God in his Holy space. That Holy space is a garden, in a land called Eden. The story is designed to show that Eden is the reality that the later tabernacle symbolized and pointed back to. Look close at the descriptions of Eden. There’s the larger region on the land that’s called Eden, but then within Eden, God plants a garden and then, in the center of that garden, God plants the tree of life. The design of Eden matches the tabernacle design. There are details in the Eden story that are developed much later in the Bible, showing how Eden is on a high mountain, because they’re in a place where earth meets heaven.

God tells these humans to work and to keep the garden. These are the same words that are used later in the Bible, to describe what priests do in the tabernacle. Adam and Eve are God’s image and are like priests working and worshiping in a type of heaven on earth temple. Adam and Eve represent creation before God and as God’s image, they represent God to all of creation. Adam and Eve do all of this in this sacred space, that’s saturated with the life and presence of God. God tells them to rule creation on his behalf, they’re like priests who embody God’s heavenly wisdom and rule here on earth. We could call them royal priests. This whole setup, the royal priests in God’s presence, where there’s abundance and life, this is called God’s blessing. But God’s blessing doesn’t last very long, humanity is deceived by a rebellious creature. Adam and Eve are unsatisfied with being images of God, so they make a grab at being God, ruling creation on their own terms.

Evil is a Force, there is noone who cannot
Triumph over it if they so choose to.
When God warned us, saying, “ the human
Heart is deceitfully wicked”, did He tell us
We were all doomed as a result?
No, thank God, but we know if we arent
Walking with Him each day of our lives,
This wickedness would prevail, there is
No middle ground.
Same thing when God said, “ the devil
Roams the earth seeking who He will
Devour”, and this represents anyone who
Is not of God, and this is the evil force
That tempts and tricks others, but one
Thing this force cannot do, is overtake
Our choices, but only if we have the
Armour of God around us within His
Invisible church on this earth, as The
Body of Christ.

Therefore, we cannot say Gods blessings
Have any expiration, rather, all of that
Depends upon us.

That evil creature is the heart of the devil,
Who is cloned in those who lure and who
Are tricked by wickedness, clothed to
Appear “ good”.

Our blessings may appear as curses as
A result, though it is God who keeps
Score, promising to avenge the afflicted,
Dead or Alive, since it is Not in the Carnal
World where we receive our Bounty, it is
When our eternal life comes to pass, at
The end of this world as we know it, but
Only a vapor, the new life is forever, where
We reign with God forever!

Is God merciful or vengeful? In Genesis, God chooses one family, the Israelites, from among the nations, he promises that he’s going to rescue the whole world through this family. But Genesis ends with the family of Abraham in Egypt. Exodus chapters 1-18, God rescues Israel from slavery in Egypt. Exodus chapters 19-40, God leads Israel to Mount Sinai where they camp out for a year. God invites this whole nation into a partnership called a covenant, so that they can be shaped by his values and character, representing God to all the other nations. Exodus chapters 19-24, the Israelites agree to be God’s partners, and God sets up the terms of the relationship, starting with the Ten Commandments. The first two are? Don’t give your allegiance to other gods and don’t make any idol images of God. Exodus chapters 25-31, God shows Moses detailed blueprints for building a sacred home, so that God can come and live among them.

This story has God’s description about his character, Exodus chapters 32-34, Moses goes up on the mountain, writing down the partner agreement, as the Israelites are at the base of the mountain, violating the first two commands. God is hurt and angry, and he warns Moses that this betrayal will keep on happening, God is ready to call it quits. But what about God’s promise to rescue the world through them? This is what Moses brings up, and so what is God gonna do? Should God end the partnership, which would be fair or will he be faithful to his promise to Abraham and show them mercy?

God’s inviting everyone to be priests, like Adam and Eve were priests in Eden. But, it turns out the people are afraid of God, and they don’t want to come close to God’s presence and so, Moses goes alone up to the top of Mount Sinai. Moses famously gets the Ten Commandments, the first two being, worship Yahweh alone and don’t make idol statues. Moses sees some really amazing things up there, he sees God’s heavenly temple and then, a blueprint of it called, “the pattern.” The plans, for the construction of the tabernacle, it’s designed as a symbolic model of Eden, a place where heaven and earth are one. Then Moses sees something else, the pattern of a glorious human figure, the High Priest who will work in the tabernacle. Only this priest can go in and out of the sacred space on behalf of others. He’s dressed in white, he wears a crown and is glowing with jewels, he’s an image of the Royal Priest that we’re waiting for.

A lot of people that focus on the Old Testament do not believe in Hell. The Jehovah's Witnesses are good example of this wrong thinking.

A lot of people that focus on the Old Testament do not believe in Hell. The Jehovah's Witnesses are good example of this wrong thinking.
The true unspeakable horror is the multitude the adversary convinced to become the darkness for him, they were thrown from a mountain in the land of Eden through the gates of hell, for thousands of years, the people of Bashan believed this region was a gateway to the supernatural realm, Caesarea Philippi at the foot of Mount Hermon, it was seen as a place where heaven and earth and the underworld intersected. This belief adds even greater weight to Jesus’ choice to reveal his true identity in this very place, it reflects how deeply this location was associated with rebellion, corruption and spiritual darkness in the ancient mind. This reinforces why Caesarea Philippi near Mount Hermon was viewed as the gates of hell and Jesus intentionally chose this location to reveal his identity through the confession of Peter, by doing so, he declared that he is the true Son of God and the long-awaited Messiah, whom Israel had been expecting for centuries. This revelation was not only meant for the physical world, but also for the spiritual real, both heaven and the fallen powers were watching.

Genesis 1:27, God announces the proposed course of action to his Divine counsel, though he alone retains the power of decision, while the counsel was debating the proposal among themselves, God took the matter in hand, why are you debating? Man as already been created. Over 4 billion years ago, one day a legion of broken mirrors came out of the gates of hell, each one forced to reflect only the adversary’s shadow, what these rebels did to the ancestor’s of the people of Nod before Adam is ancient and it’s still playing out today.
