This word takes in both forms, with a single timber, or with a crosspiece. It can also refer to a tree trunk.

Much love!

Stauros is always in singular meaning, stake, pole and can also mean tree since such instruments are made from wood. Never does the Bible claim that two stauros were collected for Jesus death.

Constantine is a pagan worshipper of the Sun. His gods were tamuz and ishtar. His religion is steeped in Babel that Nimrod built.
Today Billions of so-called Christians celebrate Ishtar, also know as Eastre with bunny rabbits and eggs you should know it's not about Christ. Same with satuarnila... it's in reference to the solstice and birth of a god from nimrod and ishtar that makes up the trinity.

1 Corinthians 10:21
You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; you cannot be partaking of “the table of Jehovah” and the table of demons.

"Satan has been stealing worship away from the Father for a long time.
Satan setup his ‘Mystery Religion‘ in Babylon, which has now become the ‘Mystery Babylon‘ religion described in Revelation 17.

Semiramis became known as ‘Ishtar‘ which is pronounced ‘Easter‘, and her moon egg became known as ‘Ishtar’s’ egg.
Clearly, the Easter Egg is a remembrance of Ishtar and has nothing to do with the Messiah’s death.

Ishtar soon became pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal that caused her to conceive.
She named her son Tammuz, the Sun God Child. The sexual union of Nimrod the Sun god and Semiramus is recreated every Spring Equinox at the Vatican, as the rising sun hits the Egyptian obelisk and causes the shadow of the phallic symbol to penetrate the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. This symbolically results in the rebirth of Tammuz nine months later, on 12/25.

Every year, they observed Ishtar’s Day after the first full moon, which occurred after the Spring Equinox, our 3/21.
Today, Easter Day changes every year, because it too is observed on the SUNday after the first full moon, which occurs after the Spring Equinox.

They would then sacrifice those babies on the altar on Ishtar Day, and they would use the blood to dye the eggs.
Today, Christians dye eggs. It is done for the children, but it is a reenactment of the Babylonian Mystery religion."

Jesus was crucifed on the wood, this is a basic translation of the idea. To insist that it's this way or that way is an argument from silence.

I was just checking on lumber weights. It turns out that a 10" x 10" by 10', not that we know, just taking a guess here. That sized piece of American soft wood is about 250 lbs, cured, not green. A harder wood weighs more, of course.

If we extend it to 12 feet, figuring 2 feet in the ground, space for a sign above a 6 ft man, and at least a few feet off the ground, this would be about 270 lbs.

He carried it until Simon from Cyrene took over. After His scourging.

It seems to me that it's more likely Jesus was carrying a cross piece, but again, this is just guesswork, and we just aren't told.

Much love!

I think you don't have a clue about me. No, I'm not "guilty by association" as you attest. All your stuff about Ishtar, I have zero interest in reading, that's not me.

Again, your argument is from silence, and you condemn one whom God holds innocent. So what does that mean? Shouldn't there be a bit more silence there?

Much love!

How can you be so close to the truth and yet be so far away? You're explaining the stauros and not even knowing yet. This definitely would cause him to give out after the ordeal he was dealt.

Carrying the cross piece would have been much smaller if there was such a piece. Maybe 4 ft in length if that? Then again, the scriptures state, Now as they led him away, they seized a certain Simon of Cy·reʹne, who was coming from the countryside, and they placed the torture stake on him to carry it behind Jesus. (Luke 23:26)

Now, can you reason this out at all? Would a small piece of wood have to be placed on Simon of Cyrene to carry? Only if its 12 foot long and heavy!!! https://www.jw.org/en/library/books/bible-glossary/torture-stake/

While many members of this forum site claim Jesus never died, then there would be no Salvation. Jesus Christ died for you (marks) so that you can Live! Watch the videos if you're not too proud...

The Bible attaches great importance to the death of Jesus. Did his death have a purpose?

4 ft? Hardly! Armspans are generally about the same as the height. No matter, no point in drilling deeper into this. Again, at the end of the day, your argument is from silence. We simply are not told.

While many members of this forum site claim Jesus never died,
I'm sorry, what?? What does this have to do with me?

Many people on this site seem to think an angel died for Man. Hardly!

Watch the videos if you're not too proud...

If I'm not too proud? Oh.

Or, maybe I'll skip them considering the source.

That's a good point, and now we're just talking about degree. What size was the wood? What kind of wood? How heavy? We don't know.

And while I'm sure you are used to being derisive to others without their comment, I like to point out these sorts of things hoping that the raising of one's consciousness will allow for higher quality discussion.

Much love!

'have to'?

Please don't tell me you think they compelled Simon because the fullness of omnipotent Almighty God was 'too weak'??

Jesus was in complete control of this entire ordeal, and Simon 'picked up his cross and followed Him' to a hill, and laid down his burden where Christ then took Simon's place.

Which method of execution is accurate and true? A or B?

In order for the following prophecy to be fulfilled, “He is guarding all his bones; Not one of them has been broken.
(Psalm 34:20) Which method of death is accurate and true?

Driving a nail through the hand would of broken bones. And if the nail should be placed between the fingers, the flesh would easily tear under the weight. But if a nail was driven through his flesh between the bones that surrounded the nail, not only would the prophecy be fulfilled but it would attach the body to the stauros.

Broken bones would have hasten his death and the torture would have been cut short. Jesus was already beaten, tortured, and flogged to the point of exhaustion that a bystander was compelled into service to carry his torture stake.

See X-ray...
Read the following for this has already been answered from scripture, history, science (but will you even read it or even have a hope to respond to any of it???):

... and No, placing a nail into the hand (palm) (or upper wrist, part of the hand), doesn't break bones. They do it all the time in the Philippines at their Catholic 'mock' Crucifixion ceremonies.

When the Roman Trinitarian Church burned people for reading the Bible. What were they burned on? A Stake or Cross?

In this excerpt from the video They Valued the Bible is the story of how William Tyndale translated the New Testament into English.

Michael Servetus , William Tyndale, and others made great sacrifices because of their love for Bible truth. Earliest transcripts of the four gospels found from the third century!

The truth cannot be long hidden for the righteous of heart.

Nail placement

Crucifixion window by Henry E. Sharp, 1872, in St. Matthew's German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charleston, South Carolina
In popular depictions of the crucifixion of Jesus (possibly because in translations of John 20:25 the wounds are described as being "in his hands"), Jesus is shown with nails in his hands. But in Greek the word "χείρ", usually translated as "hand", could refer to the entire portion of the arm below the elbow,[38] and to denote the hand as distinct from the arm some other word could be added, as "ἄκρην οὔτασε χεῖρα" (he wounded the end of the χείρ, i.e., "he wounded her in the hand".[39]

Thanks Bro Rondo for the information. I see you are enjoying the Convention sir.

The Bible does state that for sure Marks, using the original term xylon, which is translated he was hung on a tree Gal 3:13

He released His Spirit. He said no one took His life, but He had the power to lay it down, and the power to take it back up again.

Much love!
Even a guard took notice . Jesus said , INTO your hands i commit my Spirit . Then instantly was gone .
And the ground did shake .

Which method of execution is accurate and true? A or B?
OP ^

* Jesus, sentenced to death.
* Jesus, carried His cross (a wooden cross beam, carried horizontally behind the head, across each shoulder.)
* Jesus weak from beatings, being hit, pushed, prodded, objects thrown at Him, spit on, stumbling and falling.
* a man in the crowd ordered to continue carrying Jesus' cross.
* once atop the hill, a hole dug, a tree (trunk/pole) lying on the ground. The cross beam attached to the tree with ropes.
* Jesus laid down on the tree, on the ground.
* Jesus arms tied to the cross beam.
* Soldiers pressing their hands, knees, feet to hold Jesus' in place.
* back of Jesus' hand pressed to cross, NAILED with long metal Nail, driven by a metal tool, INTO Jesus Palm, into cross.
* opposing arm stretched across cross taught.
* second hand NAILED in same fashion as the first.
* soldiers continue holding, pressing, Jesus' knees slightly bent.
* one foot (arch) placed over the other foot (instep).
* one long NAIL driven in both feet, secured IN the tree.
* several soldiers with ropes fastened to the cross and tree, would then hoist the tree into a prepared hole in the ground.
* the end ropes would be stretched out from the cross & tree, secured with stakes in the ground.
* the taunting, shouting, cheering, throwing things, from the crowd continuing.

THE NAILS.
The anatomy of the PALM of the Hand from wrist to proximal knuckle (where the fingers begin) are are narrow bones, easily able to drive a A NAIL between the bones (metacarpals) through tendons and soft tissue.

The anatomy of the arch and instep of the FEET is similar. Narrow bones between the ankle and promixal end of where the toes begin, easily accomplished to drive A NAIL between the bones (metatarsals) through tendons and soft tissue.

The anatomy of the Wrist IS Eight bones quite close one to the other. Barely visible at birth, but by adult age fully developed.

THe anatomy of the Ankle IS Seven bones similar to the wrist.

Highly unlikely nails would be driven through with the wrists or ankles.

Extremeties bleed less than a puncture to the body, and the face being the most likely to bleed profusely, and likely from the thorn CAP, (not really wreath) pressed down onto His head. (Highly unlikely the one driving the Nails in his hand or feet, would want a blood spatter spray back in his face.)
Hitting a bone, would be more difficult for the one driving the nails to drive the nail into bone, then the cross/tree.
Remembering, neither the cross or tree were connected to anything solid. (Not like the cross was neatly mortised to fit the tree. Moreso was likely a tippy uneven scenario).

Crucifixion was a slow, painful, horrific death...as it was intended to be.

Pictures, statutes, and like renderings LOOK beautiful. The most likely scenario is Jesus looked more like ROADKILL, flesh ripped, torn, in an almost unrecognizable bloody mess, surrounded by garbage and trash people had thrown at Him, is likely a more truer image.

Glory to God,
Taken

Jesus died like no other man died. But why not? He lived as no other man lived. And He Lives as no other!

Much love!

A scriptural provoking thought.

"So from now on we know no man from a fleshly viewpoint. Even if we once knew Christ according to the flesh, we certainly no longer know Him in that way." (2 Corinthians 5:16)

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living person.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” (1 Corinthians 15:45)

Did you ever read at the end of the Bible where it says if you add to these words ... something nad will happen to you? Be careful. Don't degrade Jesus. Hebrews 1 makes it clear, He is above the angels. The Father refers to Him as God.

Just a case in point.
I am sure that adding to any of the Biblical text was / is a bad thing, but that did not stop people. This has been prove because of additions and alterations in newer texts that are not in the older text.

But what you are referencing in Revelation pertains to Revelation....when Revelation was written it was a separate text. It was Emperor Constantine that first ordered and financed the copying and binding of the selected texts of the New Testament and the New Testament only. Known as the Fifty Bibles of Constantine. circa 331 A.D.

One bit of popular misinformation is that the Ecumenical Councils chose the texts for the New Testament. They did not. There was a popular list of New Testament texts that was well known. But on two separate occasions the Ecumenical Counsels did affirm the list. This was after the first Bibles were bound in 331 A.D.
