You love to ignore verses that disagree with you.

Christ is the head of the body, yes. He is the head of the church, yes.

It does not say the church is the body. If it did it would have said which is the church or similar. But it does not.

It is part of a long list of what Christ is.

Ephesians 3:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

Not the same heir.
Body, not church.

Israel is a nation. Church is a people.
Jesus IS Israel along with us who believe in him. The broken off unbelievers can be reattached to Israel if they accept Christ. See Romans 11 especially..........

“And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.” (Romans 11:23) (NASB95)

@Dave L Maybe you could start your own thread about whatever it is you are seeking to advance, please?

Malachi is a refreshing book.
I'll drop it for now at your request. But I think what I'm saying is in line with your previous responses.

Any more comments on Malachi, ppl? :)
One could fill *reams* of cyberspace with comments on what is revealed in Malachi, the last book of the OT and the Minor Prophets (which are only one book in the Hebrew Tanakh, and called "The Twelve"). To sum up, we have this:

1. Esau/Edom and Jacob/Israel contrasted (1:1 -1:5).

2. The despicable worship of Israel condemned (1:6-14)

3. The future universal praise of God worldwide prophesied (1:11)

4. The responsibilities of Levitical priests applicable to Christians (2:1-9)

5. The evil deeds of Judah and Israel exposed (2:10-17)

6. The Second Coming of Christ and the purging of the Jews prophesied (3:1-5)

7. Israel exhorted to return to the LORD (3:6,7)

8. The importance of the tithe stressed (3:9-12)

9. The rebellion of Israel exposed (3:13-15)

10. Blessings on the faithful proclaimed (3:16-18)

11. The Day of the LORD prophesied (4:1)

12. The God-fearing to be blessed (4:2-4)

13. The return of Elijah before the day of the LORD prophesied (4:5,6).

There are many who claim that John the Baptist fulfilled this prophecy regarding Elijah. But that is not true since the day of the LORD did not follow the first coming of Christ. Rather His first coming began the Day of Grace (the Church Age). But Elijah will literally return to earth with Moses for 3 1/2 years (or less) during the future reign of the Antichrist. See Revelation 11.

Also, John emphatically denied that he was Elijah. However, Christ said that he had come in the spirit and power of Elijah (resembling Elijah).

Such a short book, 'pregnant' with meaning...Thank-you!

(My words 'any more...?' were in the context of other, lengthy comments not directly about Malachi.)

To me, verse 16, about those who 'feared the LORD' and 'spake often one to another' is a parallel to Christian fellowship among people of His pilgrim church.

True. And so is the application of the responsibilities of priests.

For the priest's [Christian's] lips should keep [preserve, guard] knowledge, and they [the people] should seek the law [instruction], at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.[Christ] (Mal 2:7)

Paul says exactly the same thing in Hebrews 5 and 6, just worded differently:

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God...

Good exhortation; thank-you.
