We must be living in hell because I have never seen a whole wheat communion wafer. How is it that the world celebrates communion with bleached flour that didn't exist until modern times, what's up with that?

Your deep thoughts upon this subject.

You can use any bread you want. most are unleavened bread to keep up with the good old days.

Wheat bread can cost more, and with just a small church of 2,000 your looking at a cost of around 1,500 for Juice and bread every month if communion is done weekly. These are pre-made juice with wafer wrapped in plastic which are easy to keep.

In our Church, the cost is around 300.00 every time we do communion (Possibly more) with two services and 2,000 people a service. Using real Wine, I am sure the cost goes up.
