I tried to be a part of two churches , sadly it didn't work - but not because of what I was doing. It was more a case of not following the rules - churches don't always like sharing members with other churches. Many view it as being committed to one group of people , rather than being part of the body of Christ and serving where you can.
It may be different where you are, but in my experience churches become territorial !

Today's "Churches" are so far removed from what they should be, IMHO. :(

I go to Church because that is where I receive Christ is the Blessed Eucharist and I never want to be without Him.

We can share the bread and wine at home too. Jesus wasn't in a church when he shared it with his friends.

Jesus said. Where two or more are gathered together in MY Name there to am I in the midst of them.

I would go to both. Just attend the Sunday night services at your other church. Until someone in leadership objects there's nothing wrong with it, and if they do, there may be something wrong with them.

Our vicar used to take us to other churches for us to hear other preachers.

Well that's interesting... I suppose so long as they weren't teaching falsehood, it would be a good way of getting different perspectives. Everyone has their own emphasis. Some are more evangelistic, some into prophetic and end-time themes more, and others are heavier into helping the community and/or reaching various age groups... There can end up being conflicts of interest, of course, but I've never been one for the possessiveness some churches exhibit towards their members. It comes off as clannish to me, and almost... fear-mongering (hate to say it, but I suppose that's the right word).

There's also those taken over by a controlling spirit and on a power trip, and/or covetous for money and influence, which is even worse than fear-mongering. We have some of those in our area as well.

When I was going to both churches neither seemed to mind.
TC and adj both took us to a number of different churches on Sundays. We gave testimonies/sang. Definitely different.

This is actually a pretty good idea, IMO, the more I think about it. It keeps ministers from getting burnt out, and it keeps their congregations from becoming a little too myopic, LoL.

To share a picture Mayflower sent me awhile back, Lord knows we don't need to have a faith that looks like this : )

Someone gave me I guess what you would call a word of knowledge at the new church. She said it was time, that God wanted me to just go up and worship Him when I go up, pointing to the praise team. I asked the Worship pastor about it and she said I would have to be a member of the church, not be going to two. I guess that is why I started going to just one, but feel very homesick and torn. Think I am going to both again for now.

He was called John and being born again and Spirit filled he was aware of the limitations the traditions of the CofE placed on him so he wanted those in his 'flock' to experience more than he was able to provide. He was a lovely, humble, godly man and I owe my firm foundation in the faith to him and his wife.

Not every "word of knowledge" is genuine, my dear. Search your heart for what you think the Lord is telling you to do. That's something you have to learn when getting yourself involved with Pentecostals, and the quicker the better, LoL.

You also have to account for the fact that your worship leader and/or pastor at the new church could actually have been missing God on that decision, and it is not truly the Lord's will in your case. Keep searching your heart until you know what He's telling you. Then you'll know better how you can proceed.

Lord, help me not be so GULLIBLE! Lol...

Really I felt before she told me that I was lead to learn at one and serve at the other. My church was letting me serve, but I am unsure if they would allow me now. I might start visiting both again next week after I get done singing at a different church Sunday. I sang at a UMC and gave my testimony Sunday and it turned out very well. This Sunday is a Baptist church. As far as worship music goes, I prefer my current church in all honesty. Im not so much into the newer stuff. More hymns. Old school. Lol.Part of my "homesickness."

Just keep praying over it. He will eventually sort things out if you do.

If it was a genuine word of knowledge then it will be confirmed. I had an experience a few years ago with 'hearing' a word from God into my spirit. I hugged it to myself and didn't share it with anybody. A few weeks later a visiting preacher from South Africa was praying for people at the end of the meeting and he laid his hand on me and said exactly the same words God had said to me. My knees went to jelly and I just couldn't get over it. I think a lot of people take 'words of knowledge' at face value without putting them to the test and end up in places they shouldn't be.
