I have to ask, why you guys equate patriotism with Godliness?I see these more as a by-products of your culture (USA), than of anything actually biblical. When something bad happens to you (as a nation), you claim complete innocence.I do not believe God will save someone of judgment day because of their postcode.(I have to mention I am Australian). It is up to God's grace who he saves, it has nothing to do with works of a nation (or perceived works and merits).Imagine if all nations thought the same way?

Not everyone thinks that way friend. I am scared for my country.I am reading a book about ancient rome ,and the parallels between my country and Ancient Rome are Un real. I do how ever love the people of my country. I love it because of its diverse make up. Yes we have some bad stuff going on but we have some good too. God placed me here . This is where I am supposed to be. Yes my government is puffed up. And though we claim one nation under God ,as you can see we are no longer holding those values true . The Bible teaches us that you cannot have two masters ,Its either God or money. The view point is clearly money. Its nothing suprising though. This is a Godless system we are dealing with. People will no longer put thier faith in an unseen God. We nolonger tend to the earth to make it flourish, It is a very selfserveing society. Dont hate the sinner though, hate the sin. Its what it boils down to at the end of the day. A day in a life with out God. Jesus teaches us to rebuke each other and confess and pray for each other. Christains are spiritually weak ,beat down, and out numbered. We have a from of Godliness but we deny its power. How many people have you shared Christ with today . How many brothers and sisters have you lifted up? We need each other to stay strong. Otherswise God could have given us our own indivdual planets and we could have had a world to ourselves. I dont not blame you for feeling the way you do friend. But I ask you to offer encouragement for your brothers and sisters who are struggling and not discouragement... with love.

Why are you stereotyping all Americans? I could do the same with your country I'm sure if I put my mind to it, although I know no more about your country than you apparently know about mine.I have never equated patriotism with godliness. They have nothing to do with one another. There are some very ungodly Americans who are very patriotic, and I'm sure there are Christians who are not very patriotic. I am Christian and very patriotic, but they are not one and the same. The majority of this country has turned it's back on God--starting with our country's leaders. This nation was built on Christian principles, which were abandoned decades ago as evolution became a theory and then began to be taught in schools as fact and not as theory (in my high school in the 60's), prayer and the Bible were removed from our schools, the murder of unborn babies was made legal and a woman's right, homosexuality was accepted as an alternate lifestyle, the 10 commandments became offensive and had to be removed from in front of a federal building, a lone teenage boy got a picture depicting Jesus Christ removed from his high school wall because it offended him, and this country starting calling "good evil, and evil good." Isa. 5;20

Actually please do...it may just be accurate.I am basing this opinion on the christians I interact with online.I am happy for you to try and understand my culture. We get bombarded with your culture everyday, so I am basing my observations on that.Patriotism has nothing do with faith in my opinion. For example this board, has a politics section that is full of the wildest posts I have ever seen.I bring up this topic, in an attempt to understand you guys more accurately.

I would never equate those two things! Sorry,I just don't see why anyone ever would God does not look at the whole country and say I will destroy is all because of the people as a majority. I remember in Genisis it says Lord what if there are only 5 righteous people,he said I will not destroy that city(people) idk exactly, but I highly believe we are judged one by one not as a group! And your right it doesn't have to do with the works of our Country especially mine( USA) we are so far from biblical,we have changed the standards of what a christian really is,we have looked to society that has gone so far away from the bible! I doubt all nations would ever think the same way,but if they did then it would suck unless they all thought christian, and veiws from the bible but I doubt that would ever happen

I am sorry, but I live in the U.S.A and it is strived so far away from religion, our government that was based on religion has strived far from it,we have tooken religion out of schools,Do you know how it feels not being able to speak up in school about God,because you don't want to infringe another persons belief,USA is so from from a great example. We accept lying, cheating, homosexual, and pornography,How horrible.Yes other countries do,but I do not know from first hand, but from looking around my country we seriously need to change our views. I would never look to my society in my country for advice, unless it was my pastor or church, but instead read the bible for the advice!

Sad day ain't it? Real sad. Have you not heard that its government for the government by the government. Folks are sadly mistaken if they think any politician gives a rats petunia about anybody but themselves. In politics its all a question of mind over matter, they don't mind cause you don't matter.Got it bad here? Spend time in a 3rd world country then come back and tell me how bad it is. I have spent time in a 3rd world country and it ain't pretty believe me.

Sorry to hear that.I went to Catholic school, so.....not only did we talk about God, religious studies were part of the curriculum. But then again, that didn't stop me going away from God.I apologise if I'm come across as 'attacking'. I am curious, because I did get the impression that a lot of people thought like that. It's good to know what people actually think!!!

It is horrible,at school if you speak about God and his love you will be asked to hush, and if you don't it could be a referal, not only that suspension! Our teachers can not tell us why to celebrate christmas, they can not talk to us about God,unless you ask them to,and if so it has to be just you two,but half the teachers don't know. My friend was telling me about this one girl who had to talk at an assembly about who inspires her,she got up at the Assembly and said "God inspires...." They cut her mic before she could even finish! Satan is loving this! And I HATE IT

David, you are not the one attacking...I am afraid that is another un pleasing American trait, but even more un pleasing it also seems to be, I am ashamed to say, Christian. As you said God favors us all!

No, I do not think our country is favoured by God, as I do not think that ANY country is.. God has no favorites. I am sorry that you are bombarded by our culture but that is your own governments fault for allowing that. Got to say that We are fascinated by you Aussies Or I am anyway. ~smiles~Salvation is a gift for all and for all nations but it is up to each person if they accept it or not. Salvation is not for a chosen few.
