how to know with assurance that we are saved and know Him
How do you know whether your faith will fail you or not?

How do you know you will not be lost in the end?

How do you know you will continue to hold you confidence to the end?

Seriously, how??

Much love!

No, I personally don't use Hebrews 3:14 to draw that particular argument. It's saying you aren't a partaker in Christ if you aren't holding firm your confidence firm to the end. It doesn't tell us either way if the person that does not hold firmly was never saved to begin with or whether they stopped being saved. We just know they do not have the completed action of being made a partaker of Christ to their credit. Whether they lost it or never had it the verse does not say.

Look again. That's not what that verse says. This is the heart of the "specious argument". It sounds good on the surface, but lacks validity.

This passage does in fact tell us whether someone became a partaker of Christ. Those who hold there confidence to the end did. Those who do not, did not.

Which is in harmony with places such as,

Colossians 3:1-4 KJV
1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

If you were born again, you SHALL appear with Him in glory. If you have, then you shall.

Much love!

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:24-25
Just tell people to do what John says and leave it at that.

That which "abides in you" is "Christ in You, the Hope of Glory".

Wake up.
You have no idea what you are doing.
STOP.

Posts like this are the evidence to me that you prefer to dance in circles rather than have an honest discussion.

HE's just one more who lives on these forums to test out his latest heresy.
He's just having a good time, trying to troll real believers.
justbyfaith is exactly the same type of troll.

Waiting on him

Will never leave or forsake?
So this a promise from God, one He says He fulfills.

I asked that question to someone recently, who answered, "because they want to".

Hebrews 3:14 KJV
14) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

We look at verses like this, and many explain them as saying, you remain in Christ so long as you remain believing. Is that what the passage says? No, it doesn't. It is saying you've become a permanent partaker of Christ, and that this is shown by the fact that you hold your confidence to the end. It's there in the grammar.

Whether or not you think that someone could "lose their salvation",

Here's my question.

The Christian who remains believing, lifelong, why do they do that? Why would a believer NOT abandon their faith? Why is it that a Christian remains believing?

My answer is that as we've received Christ, we now have the faith of Christ, and He keeps us safe. That having been reborn in His pattern, we will always trust Him, even if only in the inner man.

What other answers could there be?

Does the one continue in faith because they are a better, stronger person? God has chosen the weak.

Does the one continue in faith because they have obtained a better salvation? We have obtained like precious faith.

What other answers can you think of?

1 Peter 1:3-5 KJV
3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4) To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Much love!

Thanks I would offer or add. We have his confidence in us with us that if he began the good teaching work of salvation in us he will finish it as our confidence to the last day, our last breath under the sun .

Philipians1:6 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

The old testament saints that did have the Spirit of Christ working in them to both will and emopower themj. . . they as us on this side of the glorious demonstration the cross received the end of their new born again faith from the beginning (the hearing of faith) . hearing God's understanding and not that of our own .He calls ears to hear the unseen eternal .

They looked ahead by the exclusive faith that worked from within Speaking of the suffering of Christ beforehand and the glory that followed, the graves were opened as well as the resurrection gate many entered in .

We lhave the privelegde to look back by the same spirit of faith as it is written that they looked ahead by same vision .

1 Peter 1:9 -11Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

Once you see a rainbow, you cannot honestly deny they exist
Once you know God you cannot say he does not exist
