Why you ask, People have overlooked the leaven of the pharisees and the saudacees that jesus spoke about. Luke 12:1, Matthew 16:11 and Matthew 16:12.

Its not the bread but the false docrtrine going around that we are to beware of and it applys for any and evry false teacher. And the people that do write false books i beleive they will be held responsible for deceiving a soul.

Hi. I'm a newbie (3/7). I just started an essay about this. I was struck by the thought of believing the "bible" versus believing God. Abraham believed God, and was approved in this. His lot included the religion of his father, a Chaldeean. No doubt Abram was a devout man, as was his father. Neither had a "bible" to speak of, but probably had manuscripts handed down containing a record of history and beliefs, besides their own personal faith.
I think there are many things believable in the Bible, even to the natural man. And much of what provides physical advantages by believing has been lifted out and used effectively by others than the sons of God. Prosperity teaching owes much to the efficacy of the word of God, even when applied for purely selfish and fleshly purposes.
God is everything to everbody, even if not acknowledged by the vast majority of mankind. Those whom God chooses to draw to Himself, come through His divine intervention. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
AV Jn 6:44

Here is a prime example of what is not believed, yet it is in the Bible, straitforwardly said, and spoken by the One Who has all the authority of the Father Himself. Will someone say, "Any may come"?, but the Christ of God spoke something different, and I have trust in the Living God that He is sovereign in all things, even to the upsetting of Saul the Persecutor.
It is useless to assume the human intellect, even in the most scholarly theologian or student, can grasp the truth, without divine intervention and aid from God. The example above is disregarded for many "reasons", but it cannot alter its absoluteness. It is our own unwillingness or inability to believe what God has said.
We are helpless, vain, and useless without His Spirit filling and teaching us in these bodies of humiliation. That we suffer from owning corruptible, decaying flesh is unavoidable and is the travail of the sons of men.

It's simple.

People want to feel good and have their own expectations met. Most people truthfully are afraid to be honest with themselves. Some just don't know they're lying and decieving themselves.

If you had the choice you'd rather hear and believe that all the wealth power and security are yours, and that you're going to heaven. It's feels better to hear, You should be rich, You WILL go to heaven, etc etc,,

It's harder to hear things like,, You're imperfect, You need to work, you need Jesus, you are flawed, etc etc,,,

You don't sell many books by convicting people. You sell books by telling people what they want to hear.

The Bible is a tool for Christians to give them support. The nonbeliever really needs to see Christ eyeball to eyeball and that is what christians provide. We are not trying to sell people on the Bilble but Christ. They need to see Christ.

I believe the bible [is truth]
because I know my Masters voice,
and it's the Holy Spirit's work
to reveal the truth to us.

Take the church's assumption that ALL polygamy is sin,
for example, and let the Holy Spirit guide you:

Scripture teaches the following:
1) a king should not multiply wives to himself (Deut17:17)
2) a church leader should be the husband of one wife (1Tim3:2, 1Tim3:12, Titus1:6)
3) a man who has divorced any women must not marry another (Matt 19:9)
4) no woman may take a subsequent partner (Matt 5:32...)
5) no one who cant afford it should take a [subsequent] partner (Exodus 21:10)
6) no one who would be breaking any civil laws should take a subsequent wife (Heb13:17)

So there remains this unlisted dedicated* fellow:
a man who's wife dumped him, (that civil law views 'single'),
who can afford it, and doesnt lead the church.

Is he still married? Yes:
"if God hath joined
the whore and john,
how can a law
deny they're one?"
(I Cor6:16, Gen2:24, Matt19:6)

Divorce ruins families and lives,
but is powerless to end a marriage.​

To have a preist look a woman in the eyes
and tell her "you are not married",
after she loses her virginity to the above dedicated* boyfriend...
AND that "the act was sin"... ...wooops...
I'd say its the preacher who got carried away with dogma.
And if she commits to a "wedding" with a #2 man?...
the same preacher will gladly bless the sinful,
subsequent joining of the non-virgin.

Where did the preacher err?
By telling his professor
"what he wanted to hear",
instead of what is in scripture.

Here is the answer to your question: (loosely and in my own words) (Thanks)

1. It is not the bible that men do not want. It is what is in the bible that men do not want.
2. More specifically it is the God and The Savior and especially The Holy Spirit they do not want.
3. More specifically it is the sinful nature in man that does not want to face what is in the bible.
4. The sinful nature and God are miles apart and the sinful nature wants to keep it that way. Thus no bible please.
5. By default every man is born under the inherited sinful nature. Including us.

The reason (non christians) easily acknowlege any other religions , theories, origins , or evolution , is because none of it offends the sinful nature which of course the sinful nature likes very much. These very people who readily accept any fairytale easily enough will always go out of their way to claim the bible is not true. The same bible they most likely have not even read.

1. The only thing that can overrule the sinful nature man was born with is if The Holy Spirit lives and dwells in that man.
2. The only way a man can receive the Holy Spirit is through Christ and the man has to be willing to receive it.
3. In order for a man to be willing to receive it , he must acknowledge he needs it because of sin in him.

In summary it is not the bible that people do not want.
It is The Holy Spirit the sinful nature does not want a man to read about in the bible.
The sinful nature living in the man knows it can be overruled if the Holy Spirit lives in that man as well.
The sin in man does not like to be overruled , neither does Satan. It drives them nuts as can be seen by their fear of the bible.

I would approach your question by only looking at the meat of it - not about what other books people believe in, at least right now - it seems
the main point of your question lays in the "Why don't believe in the Bible?" No?

1. So many many many contradictions it makes people's logical heads spin
2. So many years after Jesus' "death" things were written down
3. Dueteronomy...ha!
4. Taking the stories literally which boggles their minds...
5. All the translations and versions
6. The immense corruption of the Men in Power over the priests and transcribers...
7. The 'believers in the Bible' and their hypocrisy...
Ummm...
8. The arbitrary deletion of writings now found...
9. The concept of eternal Hell and Judgment Day???
10. The rejection immediately of an Original Sin?
11. The belief that God would want blood shed?

Any one of the above would prove a reason for a person not to believe the Bible. I'm leaving out many other reasons I haven't thought of.
These could be reasons for THEM ---don't be attacking ME! Best to ask people why "they" don't - I have so many atheist friends - or believers in God
as friends that simply don't believe in the the way it is told in the Bible.

Another could be entirely different ---as in---"they" believe it makes more sense that when Man was created, Early Man made up the whole story of the Garden of Eden and the Temptation because, oh how Man loves to blame...it was really him, himself that simply forgot where he came from and who he was by becoming so attached to this oh-so-enticing 3rd Dimension ---thus forgetting his own spark of the Divine within him.

With his lost Divine identity and losing his way back Home - all sorts of fabrications could have been made up...
Stories of a wrathful God, stories about salt, destructions, rainbows and floods----when in a "non-believer's" mind - God is and always
has been unconditional eternal Love...Sure there are Laws of Sowing and Reaping, Laws of Inertia ,Gravity and such on this physical plane --so what seems like "retribution" from God On High ---could really just be the Law of Sowing and Reaping ---all turned into a Wrathful, Jealous looking God -sitting in Eternal Judgment ----instead of the Being of unimaginable all pervasive Light that is the essence of all that is...that couldn't even possibly be touched by our so-called "sin".
The "sin" spoken of in the Bible could be poo-poohed by "non-believers" as simply "missing the mark" ---the "sin" being we forgot who we are.
Not something to be cast into an eternal Hell for.

'He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.'

So people have no real excuse, because God has graciously left His Word to illuminate those who diligently seek Him.
