No one said he was Jesus. But a pastor is a shepherd. Or does your pastor not feed, lead or protect your local flock?
Yes, he feeds them, but has not the ability to shepherd them. Jesus is the one and only Shepherd. He said so in John 10.

He said the rest are thieves and robbers, which is in the context of wanting to be a sub-shepherd themselves.

Therefore, I don't go to men to get my shepherd fix, but to Jesus only, like a good sheep I am.

Since the pastors are not the good Shepherd, that only leaves them one option...bad shepherd...thieves/robbers.

Much better to claim eldership than the co-shepherd title.

The only thing "goofy and unscriptural" is your denial of God's Word.

John 21:15 - “Feed my lambs.”
John 21:16 - “TEND my sheep.”
John 21:17 - “Feed my sheep.

Yup - the very DEFINITION of a "Shepherd", Einstein.
A farmer would never hire you to feed his sheep, lest you claim you are their shepherd too.

You can learn to feed sheep at 5 years old, but not shepherd them.

Silly man...

No matter WHAT your friends tell you - ignorance is NOT bliss . . .

1 Cor. 3:9
For we are CO-WORKERS (sunergos) in God's service; you are God's field, God's building.

2 cor. 6:1
As God's CO-WORKERS (sunergos) we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

Do your HOMEWORK, Einstein . . .

In baseball - you have a General Manager - and you have a Manager.
In business, it's the same - only you can have multiple Managers. There's a Board of Officers - and a CHIEF Executive Officer.
NOT really a difficult concept, sparky.

Ummmm, what part of "Co-worker" are you having difficulty understanding??
Once again, Einstein . . .

Don't be silly.

There is one Shepherd. Jesus said one Shepherd and one fold.

Your problem is you cannot take "one" for an answer.

No wonder you guys teach one plus one plus one equals one.

Who taught you this un-biblical dribble? Are you self taught?

If someone taught you this you should RUN from them...RUN very fast...

Mary you really need to run faster than the prophet who ran faster than the chariots when He saw the rain coming, remember what happened to those who never got into the Ark, with Moses. But your cant, you worship your religion and wont let it go even for Christ as do so many, there hearts are far from Him.

If your pastor has no ability to shepherd his flock, i'd leave. What youre describing is not biblical. Your needle is stuck on one verse. I'd do a study if i were you. You might be surprised what you find.

Most churches are "stuck in the mud" because they have not and do not "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness." Which is to say, they instead seek to apply the literal word of God to worldly matters, rather than understanding that the words are not literal in a worldly sense, but are spirit.
Speaking of not literal in a worldly sense, but are spirit. In John 6:54, we read - Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. Jesus explains the sense of the entire passage when He says in John 6:63 - "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

The "literal" interpretation of eating flesh and drinking blood (cannibalism) is absurd. Jesus was not talking about cannibalism, but the reception of God’s grace by believing in Christ, as we see in parallel scriptures below:

John 6:40 - Everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:47 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

John 6:54 - Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:58 - He who eats this bread will live forever.

Jesus is the Bread of Life and we eat and drink of Him unto eternal life when we believe in Him.

Bread represents the "staff of life" or sustenance. That which is essential to sustain life. Just as bread or sustenance is necessary to maintain physical life, Jesus is all the sustenance necessary for spiritual life. The source of physical life is blood - "life is in the blood." As with the bread, just as blood is the empowering or source of life physically, Jesus is all the source of spiritual life necessary. :)

Moses didn't build the ark. And pastors are shepherds. Read your bible.

Yes, Jesus is THE Sheppard! Yet, we are told that "To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ's sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;" 1 Peter 5:1-2.

"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood." Acts 20:28.

Clearly, a Pastor, Elder, Bishop, Overseer, is an Administrator responsible for the Church or Flock that they are placed over. "Shepherd" describes the many functions that are also said to be the responsibility of Church leaders. Functions include being an Overseer, Administrator, teacher, leader, friend, comforter and healer... all the functions a shepherd would be to a flock.

I have around me a 5 fold ministry, but none of them are shepherds of Christ's sheep.

I am involved in the 5 fold ministry(Teacher/Evangelist), but see no Biblical reference that a pastor is above my calling.

Fact is, I am an elder, which is the Biblical definition of a pastor.

Therefore I will not try to replace the great Shepherd's voice with mine.

I, as all elders, am mistake prone, which disqualifies us as a shepherd and makes our voice the voice of a stranger.

God's will is to speak directly to the believer, not through a pastor to a believer.

Jesus said "my sheep hear my voice".

The pastor teaches, "Jesus sheep hears their voice".

Which is subjecting Jesus' voice to another man.

I teach souls to learn to hear their Shepherds voice directly, then you will get perfect direction from the unseen hand of God.
