Before I start I would like to explain the Hebrew "world" a little bit to make it clearer why the name Jesus is an empty and dead name. The names of the Hebrews and so also God are not names as we imagine them today, today names are seen as "number plates" to identify a person, nothing more, but in the Hebrews names reflected the person (or to make a statement), in other words, every name had a meaning, and these names were therefore words. I give an example: a woman cannot get pregnant, she prays to have a child, God fulfils her wish, and this mother then calls her son "God's gift" because God has given her a son. Imagine that something like this would happen today, a woman would call her son "God's gift", people would think she is crazy, or have you ever met a person called "God's gift"? But that was the way it was with the Hebrews. This name was a statement, but there are also names that reflect a person, for example Adam, Adam is not an English name, it is a Hebrew name and means "man" in English, yes, because the first man is a man, God called him man.
Now to the name Jesus which is derived from the Greek name Iesous, Iesous is considered as a translation of the Hebrew name, but I tell you that this statement is NONSENSE, why? Because this name does not reflect the meaning that it should. We all know that the name of the Messiah in Hebrew is Yehoshua, this name consists of two words, the first word is Yeho (Yeho actually consists of two words that mean "Will be" and "is", these are supposed to represent the eternity of God, so I present them here as one word, namely "Eternal") which means "Eternal" and the second word is shua which means "Savior", so the name means "The Eternal is Savior" this would be the english name for the messiah. But the name Iesous does not contain this meaning at all, it not only does not contain the meaning, it is even of pagan origin, see:
“It is known that the Greek name endings with sus, seus, and sous were attached by the Greeks to names and geographical areas as means to give honor to their supreme deity, Zeus."
Dictionary of Christian Lore and Legend
"In the 1611 KJ New Testament the name Yahusha appeared originally wherever the Messiah was spoken of. Yahusha means “Yahuah is Salvation”. Later the Messiah's name was replaced with Iesus (Greek) which later in the 1600's it became Jesus starting with the new English letter "J" which was introduced at that time. Further, the Greek "Iesus" comes from the name Zeus, the ruling God in the Greek pantheon."
