There are NO instructions in the New Covenant telling Christians they should observe Saturday sabbath... and there is NO correction in the New Covenant for those not observing Saturday sabbath telling them they are in error or out of God's will for not doing so.

In the book of Hebrews we see that REST for New Covenant believers is a result of entering in to a relationship with Jesus abiding IN Christ testing in faith... ALL the time, not just one day a week. This is far better REST than what was avalable under the old covenant. thumbsup.gif

The incessant arguments from silence and the human commandment for God to chew his cabbage twice just for stiff-necked, post-Calvary believers

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. (Matthew 23:23)

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19)

Hello Bigboy Johnson, I disagree, it is far better to obey GOD even from creation, especially with this issue.

So you too reject the UPGRADE that Jesus Christ brought forth in the New Covenant?

The New Covenant is based on better promises, and resting / worshiping on just one day is inferior to resting and worshiping on ALL days having ceased from our works walking in faith abiding IN Christ

Hebrews 8:6
But now hath Jesus obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

You are getting off-topic, Jesus Christ brought forth the doctrine of His Father.

Sir, you are mentioning the new covenant what about it?

You're not aware that the Lord took the old covenant away which was a shadow of things to come... and established a New Covenant based on better promises with Jesus Christ as our High Priest? clueless-scratching.gif

Because of this... New Covenant believers have a far superior REST... you should check it out, sir!

The kind of things you have said are not scripture-tied to what we are discussing.

REST... is part of the topic of discussion right?

Wouldn't you'd be better off just coming out and saying this is a pro 7th day adventist
religion thread and you'd appreciate if only followers of this religion post replies

Friday 1-26-24 6th. Day Of The Weekly Cycle, Shevat 14 5784, 37th. Winter Day

There are many reasons, personally after six days and on the seventh day cycle of His labor He rested. here are a few views and yours is welcome.

The creation week is a "Preface"--a preview to the greater plan of God for humanity.

In which case, the practices commanded of Israel were also a preface--"a light unto the gentiles" (to all the other nations and peoples of the world). With the coming of Jesus came the commencement of that previewed "rest", by His providing the way for people to "enter in" which had been as much as "hindered" by Israel, just as is revealed in the gospels.

It is in the middle of the creation week preview that, according to Daniel's prophecy, would be that commencement (also referred to as "the first resurrection"), which would then not be completely accomplished until the end, that is, until "the seventh day" as depicted in the creation week revelation and preview.

The answer to the question of whether or not Christians should "keep the Sabbath" as Jesus commanded, is yes. But it is not to be confused (as it is with many) with what was commanded of Israel--as Christians are for the most part not the "light unto the gentiles", but are themselves the gentiles. Which means we are not to be that same light, but to receive that light--which is Christ...which "in Him" makes us uniquely "the light of the world"--with Him, until the end. "I am with you unto the end of the age."

Which means, no, Christians are not to take a day of rest on Saturdays...but are to continue the works, as He said, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” John 5:17 Meaning that we who have already "entered in" to Christ, do not rest as Israel rested as a practice pointing to the rest of God, but do now actually rest in God "in heavenly places", but also while we "are alive and remain" in the world, we are to "work" as "kings and priests." In which case, means we "keep the Sabbath" having already attained the "rest" that was to come, that cannot be taken from us.

But if we have not yet "entered in" to Christ and to the "rest of God", we are to "keep seeking, and knocking" (not preaching or teaching).

There are also 'spirits' that are not of God that we have been warned of...
Revelation 16:13
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
