Well Mark. I really hope that you can still be saying that when in your late seventies. I used to feel like you at your age. Invincible.
Not only by eating organic and healthy, but also in believing in healing as a divine right. I really thought with those two under my belt that I had got it made.

These bodies were never meant to last for long, no matter how health conscience one might be.

i don't really feel invincible so much as i refuse to accept disease as a normal part of healthy function, and i don't see the point of going to a guy whose statistical lifespan is 5-10 years less than your own for health advice, especially if he profits from it. Fwiw i do not think Drs are bad either, i send ppl to doctors all the time, bc many ppl just aren't capable of fasting or other necessary steps that require a strong will. Not sure what you mean by organic and healthy, these are pretty subjective; your serum O3 level is not
These bodies were never meant to last for long, no matter how health conscience one might be.
true, but they were meant to last a lifetime, and i accidentally fell in with some 90+ year olds who still beat me to the top of Mt. Sopris, and lay concrete every day, etc.. Fwiw we don't ever discuss health, or health foods, or sickness, or doctors, none of that. Not saying we avoid it; the subjects just never come up
But, still as stewards of them, we should do our best to sustain them in good condition.
i should say that i would surely have made the same choices y'all have if i were making them when you made them, most likely, and if i were 80 and satisfied with my health i doubt i would change anything. Now, i plan to be doing one-armed push-ups when i am 90, but that hardly has to be everyone's goal i guess.

you guys will just have to pardon my blind spot here if you would, i watched my dad talk himself into a wheelchair making those jokes though, ok

I often say to Dave.....I just wonder what on earth shape we'd be in if we hadn't switched over to grains, organic and good water etc three decades ago!! :D

We do what we can Helen, but who does not at times get weary in well doing? The oldsters probably have a higher percentage in that category than the youngsters. How does this all weigh out on God's scale?

Is that how we are supposed to serve God? At first look it may seem so, but then again it could end up being lukewarm to Him and the result is, He spits us out.

We can but pray that we are well pleasing to the Lord and like Paul...run a good race..
Ps 73:26 "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."
We just focus on who 'we' of the Spirit are...and where 'we' live.
This flesh is but a coat that we wear. It just seems a bit more uncomfortable to wear as we age!!! LOL

Oh Helen,
By the way.......... sugar is not good for you !!!! My son has done a lot of reading on foods'
And using honey [check if its pure ] or [ maple syrup ] [ stevia in a box with packets - is OK] and no white flour.
And also all organic is not perfect....... There are a lot of things, I still do not know
since I now do not do the cooking. I just go along to pay for the foods.
Can you imagine the cost for all 11 of us ? Have to do a lot of reading on the foods and
I guess after a while you know which are good , memory !

You know you are getting old when you continue to reminisce

The following is a decade before my time….

Some love to reminisce…………

This is an abbreviated version of a1950's E-Mail text, compiled by anonymous (I believe by a Lady)

Long ago and far away, in a land that time forgot,
Before the days of Dylan , or the dawn of Camelot.
There lived a race of innocents, and they were you and me,

For Ike was in the White House in that land where we were born,
Where navels were for oranges, and Peyton Place was porn.

We fell for Frankie Avalon, Annette was oh, so nice,
And when they made a movie, they never made it twice..

We didn't have a Star Trek Five, or Psycho Two and Three,
Or Rocky-Rambo Twenty

Miss Kitty had a heart of gold, and Chester had a limp,
And Reagan was a Democrat whose co-star was a chimp.

We'd never seen the rock band that was Grateful to be Dead,
And Airplanes weren't named Jefferson , and Zeppelins were not Led.

And Beatles lived in gardens then, and Monkees lived in trees,
Madonna was Mary

And pumping iron got wrinkles out, and 'gay' meant fancy-free,
And dorms were never co-Ed

We hadn't seen enough of jets to talk about the lag,
And microchips were what was left at the bottom of the bag.

And hardware was a box of nails, and bytes came from a flea,
And rocket ships were fiction

T-Birds came with portholes, and side shows came with freaks,
And bathing suits came big enough to cover both your cheeks.
And Coke came just in bottles, and skirts below the knee,
And Castro came to power

There were no golden arches, no Perrier to chill,
And fish were not called Wanda, and cats were not called Bill
And middle-aged was 35 and old was forty-three,
And ancient were our parents

But all things have a season, or so we've heard them say,
And now instead of Maybelline we swear by Retin-A.
They send us invitations to join AARP,
We've come a long way,

So now we face a brave new world in slightly larger jeans,
And wonder why they're using smaller print in magazines.
And we tell our children's children of the way it used to be,
Long ago and far away in the Land That Made Me, Me.

God provided Food to sustain a mans natural Life; packed full of vitamins and nutrients and the HOW TO grow and maintain a fresh supply of food.

Man, who obviously (har, har) knows more than God...plants seeds in unrested soil, picks the food before it is ripe, ships the food around the world in hot boxes, processes the food, introduces all kinds of unpronounceable crap into the food........then Labels the food and ships it to your neighborhood grocery Advertised As....Fresh, Healthy and delicious!

That is pretty Close to what God Taught ....eh?

LOL...

God Bless,
Taken

Getting old when

Forced to bend over to pick up something you think about what else needs doing while you're down there.

When asked about your senior life you reply "everything's deja vu".

When your children apply for their pensions

You have to install a larger medicine cabinet

You sink your teeth into a, steak and they get stuck there

Everyone keeps waking you up to see if you're really alive

True stories of aging
My wife laughed as she told me of a lady she spoke with at the store. The woman was shopping for a bra and quipped I used to wear a 36 but now I need a 36 extra long.

My favorite high school teacher Mrs Laura Beasmore laughed as she told this. She was, at the post office and asked a puzzled looking elderly black lady if she could help her. The aged dear little thing replied "well, on the TV they said everyone that was ailen' should register at the post office. I's been ailen' so come down here to register".

All aliens were to register was the actual message but she heard alien as ailen'.

I spent most of my 40's marveling over how I was aging a lot better than my cohort ( my age group, ppl from high school). They had huge wrinkles but my skin was staying a good bit more...youthful. It was puzzling because I was a smoker, didn't eat particularly well, didn't exercise a lot.

Then I got my cataracts (which I didn't know I had) fixed. I looked in the mirror and almost fainted.
