There's a difference between being terminally ill and being terminally ill in agony with less than six months to live.
Nobody has the right to deny someone the choice.
I'm confident that with subtle amendments the bill will be passed next time in parliament.

Apparently in Canada mental illness alone may soon be enough to receive assistance in dying. There is a ban ending in March for considering mental illness as a sole condition to receive MAID.

I can't see anything changing. I wouldn't agree if that was the case.

People who believe in God and the devil want people to choose life, regardless of how painful and pointless it has become.
People who actually care about people and who don't view everyone as sinners tend to agree with personal choice.

God and his people care about people. As was said very early on, there are better options available for people who are in pain than assisted suicide / dying.

Life can be painful but it isn’t pointless.

You’re speaking about people who have rebelled against God. I’m sure many of you, even most of you, do care about people. You seek to offer them an ungodly option.

The reporting bias is astonishing.

What a terrible decision those poor parents were faced with, but reading the actual report of the child's quality of life, I can empathize completely, and they have to live with that decision.

You have a reflexively self-centered view about the quality of life for the physically/mentally disabled.

A good friend at church was paralyzed from the neck down following a car crash when he was in his 30s. He needed 24/7 physical care. Nonetheless he was one of the most inspiring people for the community: he was determined everyday of his life to help others in his way. He had an incredible amount of (biblical) wisdom, and he knew just the right perspective to offer in any situation.

Each of us has God-given gifts to offer to others, and the seemingly insignificant can have an enormous impact in a given situation.

Sadly, so-called universal health care, which is unsustainable economically, leads those worshiping the bottom line to make callous decisions about the lives of others. Do not fall into that trap.
