Daniel`s prophecy of 70 weeks, is very important with regard to God`s purposes for Israel. It is quite detailed about the times & the purposes for this to be fulfilled.
`70 weeks are determined for your people & for your city to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal vision & prophecy, & to anoint the Most Holy.
Know therefore & understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore & build Jerusalem until the Messiah the Prince, there shall be 7 weeks & 62 weeks; the street shall be build again, & the wall, even in...
What the Little Sisters of the Poor Case Could Mean for Religious Liberty
Lorie Johnson 03-21-2016 - CBN News
The pending case brought by The Little Sisters of the Poor and other plantiffs objects to the Obamacare mandate that employers provide contraception to its employees. Those plaintiffs consider birth control a violation of their religious beliefs.
Furthermore, certain types of birth control, like Ella and Plan B, often referred to as "morning after pills," are considered by Catholics and others as synonymous with abortion, which they consider a sin.
The U.S. Health and Human Services Department, which oversees Obamacare, has offered The Little Sisters of the...
NFL Joins Forces with Homosexual Elites to Discriminate Against Christians
MADISON, Wis., March 21, 2016 /Christian Newswire/
The NFL is coming against the state of Georgia for potentially passing a bill that would protect Christians who do not support gay marriage. The NFL is joined by the NBA and NCAA.
The NFL is threatening to move a potential Super Bowl from Georgia to another state if the bill is passed. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy and Atlanta Falcon's owner Arthur Blank are trying to stop House Bill 757 that would protect Christians....
This is not intended as a mud slinging, point at the log in the others eye discussion/debate.
The premise set here is that right theology proves itself by its fruit.
Does belief in unshakeable eternal security from new birth till death produce good fruit, ie repentance from sin and faith towards God and concern for souls.
And does belief in the danger of losing salvation produce insecurity and neurosis and carnal fear of God?
What is your experience been in your church? Please don`t comment on someone else`s church, or a church not actively involved for reasonable time.
I have not been in a TULIP believing church, so can only say that in my experience (Pentecostal) most seem to have security in Gods love, but not nesessarily...
There are many things we christians believe that are not true, but since these beliefs lie dormant in our subconscious, we do not deal with them, much less conquer them.
For example: I have noticed that it is a common belief among Christians and even non-christians that rich people are better than poor people, even if they get their wealth dishonestly, through lies and corruption (we have 2 candidates running this time who can be described w/ those words).
The poor are treated as though they are criminals, even when/if they obey every law on the books and try to obey all the laws of God as well. They are dismissed...
have you ever known or been around someone who practices witchcraft? have u ever been the victim of it? It is real.
Here's what's interesting (scary): If it seems like those who practice it actually do have power over you, even though u are Christian, it is probably b/c they DO have power over you. There is a psg in the Bible (I've read the whole thing) that says (I believe this pertains to the Last Days) there will come a time when God will allow the anti-Christ persons of the world ("Even now, there are many anti-Christs in the world" He said) to have power over christians. That is hard to believe, but it is there.
So if you ever...
“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” - Charles Spurgeon
In order to keep threads on topic, I have created this thread to help channel a discussion on this subject matter. This thread will explore the role of miraculous gifts in the life of the New Testament church and discuss/debate issues such as:
1. Is the Holy Spirit still giving people these gifts?
2. Can everyone expect to have particular supernatural gifts and if so, which ones (healing, prophecy, knowledge, tongues, etc.)
3. If Christians are to have these gifts, why do some groups/denominations not have them?
4. If the Holy Spirit is no longer giving these gifts, what texts do you use to support this view?
Here are just a few areas that should be discussed on this subject. Remember, please keep the debate about doctrine and...
