You don't understand the baptism in the Spirit any better than you understand water baptism i see....
I know both.

The water in the name of Jesus Christ is where we are buried with Christ. We bury our old man.

No water baptism per Acts 2:38 means our old man is still laying on the surface of the ground rotting as a spectacle.

Repent=death.

Water baptism=burial of sins(remission).

Holy Ghost=new walk.

They did not "receive the Holy Ghost at Pentecost. They were baptized into Him at Pentecost...there is a difference. To this day it is still possible to receive Him, be born again, and fall short of being baptized in Him.
2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, ...

Luke 24:47
King James Version

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Question for anyone.

Where did the church begin?

Amen!!!

Nowadays, the must be unchurched and rechurched...LOL

True. But, so many of them simply don't care. The days of Noah are upon us.

Matthew 24
[37] But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
[38] For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
[39] And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

We must preach Jesus is coming and Acts 2:38 to those that want to go with Him.

Your understanding of baptism(s) might change if you actually study them. Get a concordance and look up every verse that has the word baptism or baptize in it.
Then ask each verse some questions:
1. Who is the baptizer? (Who is doing the baptizing)
2. Who is the candidate for baptism? ( who is being baptized)
3. What is the element being baptized into. Water? The body? The Holy spirit?

You will find at least 5 separate and distinct baptisms the Word teaches....and probably learn a lot about Jesus in the process. :)

I know what you believe, just showing you the error of your ways per your words.
Brother, we are not having a conversation if you don't consider what I say and give a reasoned response. You are wondering out loud why Christianity has move away from physical baptism and the answer is obvious to me. The ritual has no meaning to most people.

Consider marriage rituals of the past. Did you know that newlyweds were showered with rice? Suppose a couple doesn't want wedding guests to shower them with rice? Some couples don't like it. Now, consider this. If a couple refuses to be showered with rice, does that mean they aren't married? No.

In the same way then, if someone is not baptized in water, which is simply a ritual exercise, this does not mean that God will not grant him or her the Holy Spirit. Neither will that person forfeit salvation. Peter asked Israel to be baptized in water because that was a meaningful symbol of an inner reality. But while one culture may find baptism in water a meaningful ritual, other cultures may not.

Why does it matter to you how someone gives expression to their commitment to Jesus Christ?

Yes, they are fighting Acts 2:38 tooth and nail.

It is the verse that decides whether one is in the church at Pentecost or someone else's church.

They are all in someone else's church started in seminary.

I know many saints that are baptized per Acts 2:38, but per capita of all 'Christians', they are a tiny minority.

Most "Christians" these days do not get baptized at all.
:( Never imagined that would come to pass.
Though what I have learned recently here, I don't think we can ignore the fact that there are cloaked unbelievers intent on assailing the truth in God's words, and arguing consistently against the import of its truth.

Why?:( So sad.

Just obey Acts 2:38 like the rest of the 3000 at Pentecost, okay?

Just get your sins remitted by being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ like Peter commanded, okay?

Just go to heaven like they did, okay?

I never said that,

You can’t hear, because you don’t want to
Is this about water or Spirit baptism?...

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death,

Funny, the Acts 2:38 command of Peter pertaining to the remission of the sins of 3000 people at Pentecost are now considered by modernists...a ritual.

Either Peter was a flunky or modernists are.

You choose.

I think they are the deceivers and being deceived as per the verse.

Some say the "water" means Holy Spirit. Lets see ...

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water Holy Spirit and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

let's not forget to cross-reference...

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

1 John 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

These would be horrible OT priests as they would tell folks that the brazen laver is replaced and deemed unnecessary by the Holy of Holies.
