You don't understand the baptism in the Spirit any better than you understand water baptism i see....

The water in the name of Jesus Christ is where we are buried with Christ. We bury our old man.

No water baptism per Acts 2:38 means our old man is still laying on the surface of the ground rotting as a spectacle.

Repent=death.

Water baptism=burial of sins(remission).

Holy Ghost=new walk.

They did not "receive the Holy Ghost at Pentecost. They were baptized into Him at Pentecost...there is a difference. To this day it is still possible to receive Him, be born again, and fall short of being baptized in Him.

We must preach Jesus is coming and Acts 2:38 to those that want to go with Him.

Your understanding of baptism(s) might change if you actually study them. Get a concordance and look up every verse that has the word baptism or baptize in it.
Then ask each verse some questions:
1. Who is the baptizer? (Who is doing the baptizing)
2. Who is the candidate for baptism? ( who is being baptized)
3. What is the element being baptized into. Water? The body? The Holy spirit?

You will find at least 5 separate and distinct baptisms the Word teaches....and probably learn a lot about Jesus in the process. :)

Brother, we are not having a conversation if you don't consider what I say and give a reasoned response. You are wondering out loud why Christianity has move away from physical baptism and the answer is obvious to me. The ritual has no meaning to most people.

Consider marriage rituals of the past. Did you know that newlyweds were showered with rice? Suppose a couple doesn't want wedding guests to shower them with rice? Some couples don't like it. Now, consider this. If a couple refuses to be showered with rice, does that mean they aren't married? No.

In the same way then, if someone is not baptized in water, which is simply a ritual exercise, this does not mean that God will not grant him or her the Holy Spirit. Neither will that person forfeit salvation. Peter asked Israel to be baptized in water because that was a meaningful symbol of an inner reality. But while one culture may find baptism in water a meaningful ritual, other cultures may not.

Why does it matter to you how someone gives expression to their commitment to Jesus Christ?

Most "Christians" these days do not get baptized at all.

Funny, the Acts 2:38 command of Peter pertaining to the remission of the sins of 3000 people at Pentecost are now considered by modernists...a ritual.

Either Peter was a flunky or modernists are.
