How do you define Salvation?

Depending on how it is used....maybe I can see your point in the first paragraph.

For example: Jesus is my Salvation..[deliverance]
How do I lose Him If I know I can call on Him.
His blood forgives.....[therefore His blood also is my deliverence] how do I lose it if I know How to receive forgiveness]

Also one is sealed with the Spirit[guide,etc]..[how do you lose the Spirit in whom you are sealed with]

But salvation is a life...
It is Life that motivates our works that lead to fruit.
That life is our journey of what we do with Christ. Therefore maybe I can say: it is our walk with Him. Or what we do with Him...

Therefore if you do nothing with Him....where is your life??

So based on this....if the Joy of the Lord is my strengh- therefore my salvation....[protection,confidence, ]

Can you lose salvation if you stop and do nothing?

But then again

Why did the man say restore unto me the Joy of my Salvation?

If He knows who the deliver is.....but does not experience deliverence ...He has not lost God...but deliverence from God....

Rather deliverence is of His conscience of not being restored back into fellowship.

Hence repentance

The people were told if they would turn from their sins and seek God's face then would He hear from heaven and forgive their sins...

They did not lose God....but their fellowship

Let me know what you meant by your first paragraph...

You either walking with Him, or you are not
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.Psalms 16:11

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. The Lord is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. Psalms 28:7-8

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.1 Peter 1:8

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:7

Let me know what you meant by your first paragraph...

You either walking with Him, or you are not

What I was suggesting was a concept. Away of thinking. Christ knows what you are doing, what your thinking, and what is in your heart...all the time. So I think it is best to look at it like Christ is walking right beside you every step of the way. He sees you do good and He sees you do bad. .... Do Good. Now as I said about making it a habit to do good...in my life I have found that once you make doing the right thing a habit, Christ will put people in your path that need "something" He does that because He can count on you to do the right thing.

As far as salvation I like your post.
The way I look at salvation is that it is a lifetime event. As Paul said,...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling...
We can list the elements or components of salvation.
But I see saved as the time when you come to believe, repent, baptism, and communion.
But I see salvation as living and learning and walking with Christ...a journey....The Way.

Let me tell you something Mr. Liar, Acts says what it says.
Acts 2:38 is not works of righteousness. You people that write off the Bible should be ashamed of yourselves. Shame on you.
I do not tolerate liars so I will thank you not to address me again...Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
Stay away from me and stick to your own kind.
Let me tell you something.

For once, why don’t you try to study the origional text. And see what it really says. The English text is just a translation, it has errors.

Peter told everyone to repent and they would recieve the gift of the spirit, he then told individuals to be baptized for the remission of sin (on account of) and then Luke tells us the truth, those who believed were baptized, not those who were baptized where saved.

Water baptism IS works salvation, because your doing an act of obedience (works) to earn salvation.

deny it all you want, calling me a name does not counter the truth, you need to study

I think he did. If my memory serves me right, First he said it was like when he was 15. Then he says he do not remember. He also claims conversion does not apply to him as he always believed in Christ. Yes that seems quite confusing right? But that is what he said, I think.

Tong
R3635
I never saw the 15 remark, all I saw was he always believed, and something to the fact he did not need to be converted as he was never dead? (Death did not apply to him)

Not sure exactly what the first paragraph is referring to...But you did not agree...with my summary on how we draw near? The Hebrews passage and the other...smile

However I like what you said in both
Especially about character...God putting people in your path because He knows your heart...amazing

Amazing....stirring up the gift...for me that means make life count...

The English text is just a translation, it has errors.

Translators around the world make it possible to communicate effectively between nations.

But when it comes to the Bible there’s suddenly an ineffectiveness of translation charge. Such boloney!

Are you aware that in Acts 21:40-22:21 what’s recorded in the Greek was a translation from the Hebrew? Are you going to charge the “ineffectiveness of the Greek”? Or is it only the Greek language that is capable of accurate translation?

Man I hate it when people like you throw around such baseless charges against English translations of the scriptures!

You have no idea about the intent of our conversation....what do they call it....clueless.
I have been educated in theology...biblical scholarship at 6 universities in 5 countries. I have a $40,000 library of my own. Four computers dedicated to different things. In that library I have books with photo copies of the oldest texts available and the education and the linguistic books to understand the languages of the Bible.

Now for the intent of our conversation...you and Tong2020 and BB have an intent to deceive people and you have no problems lying.
Liars have tendencies...character traits...when a liar opens a Bible they are looking for scriptures to deceive people and hurt people and to justify what they believe, do, and want. The are not looking to help people or be of service to Christ. They somehow get satisfaction is seeing how many people they can lead down the path to hell...For this reason with this dark heart they are not going to see the good in Christians and they are going to preach against, even despise doing good...as Satan would also hate good Christians and despise those that do good.

I will always challenge evil...that includes the teaching of OSAS, Calvinists, Jehovah's Witnesses..etc.

I don’t think they are consciously and deliberately lying, they’re just deceived. They believe they are teaching the truth.

The danger of manipulating scripture to fit a man made teaching is the following:

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie" (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)

For me, the gospel too is simple, Jesus Christ.

The gospel is not what you and I should do but is what God had done to save you and me.

Tong
R3636
Then if we all are saved then why do we live?
Why are We here....

On its own what good is Good News if you do not receive the benifits of it, for the purpose it is intended...

I disagree with you.....
For How do you enter the kingdom unless you repent.....(even if God brings you to repentance as you said earlier)

Therefore do you not "do" by receiving?
And after, do you not do by acting with the good news?

Recall:For the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be declared righteous.

What I see in this is "if the good news is about the availability of life in the kingdom under rule of the son of God our Lord and savior, then we must remain under the Kings rule....therefore remaining is something we do, even Tong if it is with the Spirit, so yes we play a part. We are not Robots, we have free will.

No one will ever say they did anything without God....nor can we.

Just as I said......earlier in a post: Jesus finished the work. It was Jesus that died and Rose and lives forever. None of us did that.

But we must walk in His finished work..
Therefore, He is the beginning and the end
And the Spirit guides us to stay on the path.
It is the journey that is salvation(life) Therefore staying on the path to Life is our life.[joy, peace, how we remain in the father and the son]

You see there is nothing we do without Him...but there are things we do with Him..

He says: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Find out what a yoke is.....

So do we do the Gospel, yes...because we believe with the intent to act......Jesus said the words He spoke were Spirit and life...We must eat from Jesus to live.....[to eat of Him is something we do]...

GOOD MORNING you DO GOODERS

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." (Galatians 6:10)

"…do good …be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;" (1 Timothy 6:18)

"But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." (Hebrews 13:16)

Like. Said, you proved what I believed about you was true, even though you denied it. So I a, all good. You can challenge eternal life and salvation being the gift of God all you want, your not fighting me your fighting God, and even if you think you wil, in the end, you will not.

acts 2 does not say be baptized to receive the gift of the spirit period. The words do not match (one is second person the other is third person) hence they are not related in any way, it does not matter how much education one has, the laws of language must be adhered to,

so if you want to ignore this, well then it just goes further to help me know you can not help me

You can challenge eternal life and salvation being the gift of God all you want, your not fighting me your fighting God, and even if you think you wil, in the end, you will not.

Satan is a schemer...preaching evil as good. Genesis 3:1-5 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

You and your kind preach sin all you want and go to heaven...which would mean that heaven would be full of evildoers. Rewarding evil!

acts 2 does not say be baptized to receive the gift of the spirit period. The words do not match (one is second person the other is third person) hence they are not related in any way, it does not matter how much education one has, the laws of language must be adhered to,

You lie again and really do not have the intelligence to lie well.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. KJV

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. NASB

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. NIV

These scriptures are consistent with the Koine Greek texts and not that you would understand it but....The Greek language did not take English grammar into consideration.

it does not matter how much education one has, the laws of language must be adhered to,

Again, as I said, The Greek language did not take English grammar into consideration...of course right? English not part of that time period. But let me connect the dots for ya....

Peter said do this....Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ...
So then Peter explains that this will happen....for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

No matter how simple and straight foreword the scriptures....you people try to twist them.
