1st John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
Been there...naturally born in sin...ie Against God.
Been there...forgiven of my sin of Disbelief Against God.
Been there...cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.
1st John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
I was never, UNDER Mosaic LAW.
Hebrews and Tribesmen WERE (and some still are, UNDER Mosaic LAW).
Under Mosaic LAW, SIN ...Was and Is Disobedience OF THE LAW. All 600 + Laws.
Read their Laws...man against man was a SIN.
Lying, cheating, stealing, etc. BETWEEN men was part of their LAW. If a man stole from a man, it was a SIN.
Moving along to the NT. TO THE JEWS, just learning about Jesus, were still Practicing their Jewish religion UNDER THE LAW. They understood their LAW, and what SIN was "under their law". Their Jewish "teachers" of Jesus the Christ Messiah was NEWS to their ears. They were learning ABOUT JESUS, while still practicing Under their Law, UNTIL their Knowledge INCREASED and their Faith INCREASED and their Understanding INCREASED...
Listen to Jesus' preaching, the Apostles preaching....law, law, law? Sin among men according to the Law? Or rather Believe, Believe, Believe in Jesus and One who Sent Him?
The LAW was a foreshadow...a practice time, among men.....FOR WHEN men would be OFFERED A RELATIONSHIP Between an Individual man and the Lord God...
A Relationship that can not be dissolved, once established (no divorce).
A Relationship based on absolute TRUTH (a mans spirit in his heart).
A Relationship of no Lies...heartful truth.
A Relationship of no Cheating...not committing to God, then sneaking off to other gods.
A Relationship of no Stealing...using Gods granted power for evil.
AND ... such a relationship HAS HOW MANY LAWS? TWO. And HOW exactly does a man KEEP those TWO Laws? BY the INDWELLING POWER of God within the Converted man.
IF ANYBODY does sin?
Well...I no longer CAN SIN, Which is Disbelieve IN the Lord God.
But SOME, such as the unsaved, or such as those who ARE and REMAIN UNDER Mosaic Law, CAN SIN according to their LAW...
THEY are the "ANYBODY" that can sin...
And the good news is they HAVE AN ADVOCATE called Christ Jesus, who can forgive them and Free them from their SIN;
IF they freely choose to accept His Advocacy.
Glory to God,
Taken
