The problem with what you are saying is that the RCC incorporated a lot of pagan things into their worship. Are we to obey God or men? We are indeed to follow those with the rule over us, but not when they tell us to do things that are contrary to what God commands. The RCC attempted to bring all the world religions together, and in doing so, they brought pagan practices into the church and "Christianized" them. Once men of God realized what had happened, they were forced to make a decision. Were they to follow the RCC blindly simply because that is the church they were born into, or reject the apostacy and try to restore proper order? They chose the latter.Protestantism is a sin against the Christian virtue of obedience!
(Spiritual anarchy)
Romans 16:26
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Acts 5:32
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Hebrews 13:17
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Lk 10:16 he who hears you (the apostles) hears me
John 13:20
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send (the apostles) receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Jn 20:21-23 as the father sent me, so send I you. (The apostles)
God always establishes order in obedience to hierarchical authority of fathers! Heb 13:17
We must be taught by Christ, thru His church by the apostles, Matt 28:19 Lk 1:4
Lk 24:27 acts 8:30-31 thee faith eph 4:5 Jude 1:3
That being said, there are problems within the Protestant Church. They did not completely return to the Biblical way of doing things. They took things from the RCC and tried to fix them, and that was a mistake. It is understandable why they did this. It was all they knew, but what needs to be done is for us to return to the early church's way of doing things as is found in the Bible and using that as our foundation. That is how we fix things. We do not have enough information to return 100 percent to doing things as they did in the Book of Acts using nothing but the scriptures, but we can get close.
Returning to what you said, the RCC was not following the pattern of the early church, and in reality, if anyone started a rebellion, it was them. Moving away from that corrupt system to return to God's way of doing things is what I believe the Lord would have us to do.
