QT, I know that you are familiar enough with this place to agree that there are those who are intentionally confusing, saying one thing only to contradict themselves with a different position in their very next post, just to be a confusing deflection from the topic at hand. So, I trust you won't take it personally when I say I am confused by some of your posts.
Here, you state how serious the Tribulation will be.
Then here, you seem to question the Wrath of God altogether.
There is SO much more to the story.
When you have all the pieces of the puzzle in place, and understand the bigger picture as a whole, it is not only much easier to understand how God can come with a vicious Wrath upon the world He created and the inhabitants therein, but it actually makes you feel closer to Him as a Christian. Absolutely NOBODY has been more maligned and slandered than God. Those He loves, He loves in a very special way.
Consider these variables:
-The concept of the Wheat and the Tares: not all people are God's, many are of the devil. That is supported throughout scripture, OT AND NT.
-All of the countless verses in the Psalms that reveal how God REALLY feels about sinners: he sends sinners to hell, NOT their sins. 'Love the sinner, hate the sin' is NONSENSE!
-Consider how matter of fact Jesus presents the 'Lord, Lord' verses we've all heard so many times describing the many who will be turned away in the end.
-Not only have people been corrupted by evil in this world, but the entire earth, every plant, animal, lake, river, ocean, ecosystem, etc. has been corrupted by evil and sin. NONE of it is the way God created it anymore.
To say, or imply, that God is schizophrenic - heaven forbid - for His judgment upon a 'far-worse-than-fallen' world is the real schizophrenia, if you ask me. God's judgments and opinions are sacred and holy and PERFECT. And that is ALL that we should think of them. Who are we to judge the Potter when we are but the lowly clay?

Be assured, the tribulation expected will have an intensity that dwarfs what is going on currently.

Maybe, I just misunderstood. Highly possible.Tell me how this works.... from one side of the mouth God's love toward his creatures is proclaimed then from the other side of the same mouth God's wrath is proclaimed??
Have we misunderstood something? or is God schizophrenic?
To answer this part of your question, I, personally, believe that those who accept God's love for humanity, as a general blanket concept of who He is, do not have a good grasp of scripture. That's my opinion and it's not necessarily at you, but many have been brainwashed to believe that's all God is; ... love.If Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever; if his living and dying is a revelation of the character of God then things do not jive with our understanding of the Wrath of God.....that's a fair comment isn't it?.....and it begs the question, where and what have we misunderstood in relation to this?
