Must read Luke 22

But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one."

He said this because they would need to defend themselves.

And Jesus would consider himself a hero-

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

(The battle of division between belief and unbelief... Mother against son, father against daughter, and so on.)

Jesus never said anyone was a hero for defending themselves. Being a hero first of all requires one to protect others than oneself. Kyle knew that there was a curfew, but he show up with a gun to protect something worthless.
Willing to kill others to save himself - not a hero, just a scared child.

Thank you. Yeah, the things I remember .....idk if I want to put in this thread, and maybe not in my own SRA/MK thread. It's pretty graphic. But in short ...I remember being taken into the woods by a woman, hearing a song being played .... Teddy Bear picnic ...and people in bear suits .....being chased....and caught ....by a huge "bear" ....and assaulted. I was so frightened, no place to hide ...I dissociated and imagined myself as part of the tree (so maybe the bear wouldn't see me). So then ....that part of myself who held that memory saw herself as a tree ....the bear .....anyway ..... that's the part I don't want to write straight out, but bears find honey in trees ......

Years after I worked through that trauma, I heard the testimony of Fiona Barnett, whose account is near exact to what I remember.
Once again sorry to hear your trauma, I'm sure many more evils of BG could be told

Exposure is the best remedy, as the bible states we are to reprove evil, and we are talking and exposing the evil

That’s not a personal attack that’s brotherly guidance! For someone who has been coming up with personal attacks for everyone he disagrees with in this post, you are truly a fragile snowflake.

You said that people are pro gay marriages and abortion even though the person you debated with told you they weren’t, you’ve done it through the post. Then you realize there is a democrat in the post, then you go off on him and spam his posts with “Fake News” comments.

You have been misrepresenting peoples words and that’s a tool of the devil - short and simple. Lying is a strategy you’ve used throughout this debate
Don’t be a victim, it seems somewhat senseless to listen to hypocritical nonsense, when you can dish it out.

Now you’re calling Kyle a Hero - just shows how fare off, your values is from Jesus’ values. Don’t remember Jesus calling anyone who fought with swords a hero. Kyle isn’t a hero, at best a misguided teenager, who placed himself in a dangerous situation, where he needed to defend himself.

The things you claim are unreal. - that’s why I am sure that you are a troll only looking to make notice and annoy.
Your purpose has been to derail the debate from your fist comment.

I know even admin had a word with you about that and told me that you usually aren’t this annoying.
Your claims are false, and you continue to bring personal attacks when admin has asked you to stop, as you once again accuse me falsely of being a troll, with personal attacks calling me a liar and fragile snowflake

.
The city was on fire and people were destroying it. Why is the city worthless? I don't understand.

I don't know what the media is saying where you are, but he was in a cadet program for the fire department and the police academy.

And he was charged by adult males, who happened to be predators of children, so maybe that is some kind of poetic justice.

I'm not siding with right or left here, but like, facts exist and we should be aware of them.

I have to disagree...

The far left are anti theists... They hate God
They've introduced all the sinful living from abortions to gay marriage...

People from the center right are the conservatives...
Almost all of them love God... You don't see them burning churches and trashing religious art like the radical left does. The left even burns Bibles

In saying that though, I'm just as sceptical of the right as I am of the left. Even more so cos the political right are sheep I'm wolves clothing...

So I agree in part and disagree in part...:)
I'm not Democrat.
I'm not Republican.
I'm a Christian
I'm a Christian, father/husband, and republican, red, white, and blue, long may it wave!

His right to do what he did, has nothing to do with his decision to break curfew and bring an AR-15. I agree that it looks like self defense I also don’t think he should go to prions for murder but to call him a hero is a stretch. The reason I don’t think he should go to jail for murder, is that he clearly gets assaulted (as mentioned in my post previously) and that it’s legal for a 17 year old to carry an AR-15 (however crazy that sounds to me as a European).

Yes, the buildings he defended was worthless compared to the lives lost. I’m not blaming Kyle, he’s only 17. I do however think it’s stupid to bring an AR to protect something worthless in comparison to the lives lost. I know Kyle was under pressure and I found it hard to Judge a kid, who placed himself in a stupid situation. I know Kyle was a junior cadet at the emt/fire fighting business, that doesn’t make a person a hero either. Just because I believe Kyle shouldn’t go to prison, doesn’t mean that I think his decisions were good or smart.

It’s not a personal attack, I just think you are misguided. Not because you are a Republican who believes that abortion and homosexuality is sin. Most christians believe that killing the unborn or living out a homosexual life is a sin, but what does that matter if the sinner doesn’t have faith in the first place?

When you attack people or misconstrue what they say, you will experience a push back.

I am however sorry for doing that in response, to what you did. I shouldn’t be unfair towards you just because you are unfair to me and I was completely wrong in that regard. I sincerely mean that.
Sorry for name calling and being childish.

Jesus told them to take swords to fulfill prophecy.

"For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: 'And He was numbered with the transgressors.'"

Then He told them to NOT use them.

Matthew 26:52 (NKJV)
52 But Jesus said to him, "Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.

Luke 22:35-51 (NKJV)
35 And He said to them, "When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?" So they said, "Nothing." 36 Then He said to them, "But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. 37 For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: 'And He was numbered with the transgressors.' For the things concerning Me have an end." 38 So they said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." And He said to them, "It is enough."

Jesus even healed His enemy.

49 When those around Him saw what was going to happen, they said to Him, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"
50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.
51 But Jesus answered and said, "Permit even this." And He touched his ear and healed him.

I don't know of even one place in the NT where a Christian killed anyone.

Luke 6:27 (NKJV)
27 "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

@McFearless Do you believe there should be no consequence for murder and such? No laws against acts of violence like armed robbery, rape, child molestation/abuse, etc?

Laws against acts of violence are good. Even God gave a law. Laws are a schoolmaster, to set parameters between good and evil, else why should parents train up a child in the way he should go? Rules and laws have a purpose.

Galatians 3:23-25
[23]But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
[24]Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
[25]But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

If I've misunderstood you, forgive me.

I believe that the ruler gets to decide the law of the land. As I understand it God put Herod in power and Herod killed the innocent. In many ways I believe that a people probably gets the ruler they deserve. I can speculate about God’s reasoning, but it wouldn’t do any good.
I know that God is perfect and that I am flawed, so my evaluation will in any case be wrong. I have one mission only:
to make decibels.
It’s not my mission to prevent abortions, murders, homosexuality, tax fraud, liars or adulterous people. It serves no purpose to treat the symptoms and people always seem more interested in the symptoms than the actual cause.

I know God doesn’t want us to commit murder so I’ll just refrain from that. Punishment is really only a systematic way for a government of gaining legitimacy through peoples feeling of justice. And possibly a way to prevent future murders. In my country you don’t get long sentences for murder and we have a very low murder rate. I don’t believe that harsh punishment is an effective tool in fighting crime, but I do believe that the system gain its legitimacy by handing out hard punishments. To me fighting crime would be more important than for the system to gain legitimacy, but I don’t know God’s opinion, when it comes to Government’s handling of justice.

I wish we could have a system of forgiveness, that won’t come until he returns.

Don't expect a rank liberal to expose his evil party. They are indeed the most dangerous breed on this planet. Call in the exterminators.
What we are witnessing is a nation , a world that has abandoned GOD . When the truth be silenced evil BLOWS UP and very fast .
The only hope this world , these nations have , sitteth not in the kingdoms , BUT IN THE KINGDOM above , seated at the RIGHT HAND of the FATHER . WE GOTTA get the biblical JESUS back out unto the world and INTO our own churches and very fast if we want any to be saved .
Cause time is running out . And the only hope this world has , IS JESUS the GLORIOUS CHRIST .
March onwards enoch . Onward in the LORD procliaming to all that has breath that in HE ALONE is salvation found .
By the way BOTH sides now are preaching this many path lovey lovey stuff . THEY duped BOTH SIDES with it and its now growing
amongst both sides . THEY Gonna meet as one under this lie , under the beast .

@McFearless Thank you for explaining. I can see what you're trying to say, but I don't agree with having no rules or laws to abide by. It seems to go against the system I see set forth in God's Word.

We can forgive a person, while at the same time, require a consequence. My dad was an abuser and a child molester (and worse) before he came to Christ about 3 months before he passed away. I forgave him at age 13 when I came to Christ, even though I was still victimized by him after I came to Christ. (He was by far not my only abuser.) But the fact that I forgave him didn't mean I'd had any trust restored in him. I still held boundaries and didn't allow my children around him. I also didn't have him walk me down the aisle to be given to my husband at our wedding. (Consequences.) And I see no problem with putting offenders like that in prison. Goodness, Christians can minister to them.m in prison. Perhaps my dad could've been prevented from committing many more crimes had he been put in prison after I told someone what happened (at age 14). But praise God, he did come to Christ!! I don't know about his other victims, though....except for my sister and brother who both have so much bitterness and hatred, they reject Christ.

I will say that my consistent forgiveness and love for my dad despite his crimes was something God used to bring his heart to a place of receiving forgiveness from Him. God told me when I was 13 that He would save my dad. I prayed for my dad for decades ....he finally came to Christ 3 months before he died....almost 20 years later.

I do believe there needs to be some room made for rational and righteous judgment where the law comes short or is flawed. Not every crime is the same. Some people can be rehabilitated, counseled, etc.

Actually many people in America CAN be that stupid. It’s a fact. It’s also the reason why we’ve had so many religious wars throughout the centuries as you’ve pointed out earlier.
Sometimes it’s easier to deal with atheists than 30,000 versions of Christians.
Yes indeed my friend . What most folks , however , dont realize is that this all inclusive religoin led by rome
is going to end up causing the death of more lives in such a short time than ever before . And they will
be chanting god is love and we are one as we are killed . WE must resist this lie and have no fear of what is to come against us .
Just procliam JESUS as the ONLY MEANS to be saved . And i mean ONLY MEANS to be saved Gary .
We must simply return to the true chidlike faith that trusts and takes JESUS at HIS EVERY WORD .

I never said that I’m against law, I just said that it isn’t for me to decide how we punish and what we punish for.

Your experience moves me and I respect your strength and willingness to forgive.

I think you and I view forgiveness from different perspectives.

In my perspective forgiveness is to completely forget any claim you have against your transgressor. I’m not saying that you have to forget to forgive, you simply need to give up on your claim for justice, towards the person who did you wrong.
Every action has a consequence, so let’s say that I borrow you my horse. You ride the horse all day long, but forgets to give it water and food. My horse dies from a heatstroke, now you owe me a horse.
You come back to me crying and regretful that you forgot to feed the horse and that it died. You only have a little money and can only pay me 1/10 of what the horse is worth. I take the 1/10 as offered but forgive you the rest of the amount. That’s forgiveness.
If I also decide not to lend you my horse next time you need one, it can’t be considered punishment. It is a consequence but not a punishment.

Keeping someone at arms length can hardly be seen as a form of punishment. I know that it’s the consequences you imposed on your dad, but it can’t be seen as half forgiveness.
You fully forgave your dad and your consequences wasn’t based on punishing him, but on protecting your children and your own heart, which is advised.

One can forgive someone without trusting their transgressor, that just takes courage.

God bless you!

No nation can be a Christian nation, that’s just patriotic propaganda used to divide and conquer. When I read back in Danish history I am also baffled what people have done in the name of Jesus..
Hi @McFearless ; the fact that centuries back there was supposedly a vision of the Dannebrog in the sky, with its cross, does not guarantee therefore that what the Danish state has done is correct! :)

Certainly not!
I never said that the Danish state was correct, I actually sort of emphasized that it isn’t with the comment “slave keepers probably told themselves the same thing”
