You talkin to me?
Who says I smoke? Or drink alcohol? Or watch TV? Or go to sports events?
Why do people always got to make things personal, when they are posing to be teachers of the doctrine of God?
If I did smoke, it would be for the same reason for having sex with my spouse: I want to. I like it. I enjoy it. I like it, I love it, and I want more of it!
No one has to be a smoker to reject false law-making about smoking.
One thing is for sure, Scripture never condemns smoking, but Scripture sure has plenty of condemnation for false teachers who add their own commandments, traditions, and laws to the Word of God.
Children playing with fire is what many do, because they get on some crusade about something they don't personally like.
I'd rather be around a smoking sinner than an anti-smoking crusader.
Self-righteously preening pompous potentates are far more disgusting to my soul than any cigarette smoke to my flesh (which I do not like).
You pompous ass. If you had looked and considered what I had posted, you would have noted that I had bolded the important segments of my short quip.
It was not personally directed at you if you had only read the bold words you would have read and understood this: -
No, the reason why probably is.
This is true of all potential sins that we commit.
The reason why you responded to my quip in the manner that you did, is also the cause of you sinning in this particular case.
I for one did smoke. I smoked for 25 years. A packet a day person, but i was able to give up my smoking in an afternoon's dunking.
Sink that afternoon, over thirty years ago, I have not had a desire to have another cigarette. However, I did other things to comfort me for a time.
