If you want to prove that, show me where Jesus told nicodemus to be baptized to be born again.

Either show me where Jesus told Nicodemus to get baptized. or admit you can't

Those are your only two options.
Are you being serious?

What is the water in "water and Spirit" (vs5)?

That was not my complain Nor my disagreement, so this is nothing but a mocking post.

You should be ashamed.
Huh???? I literally made the mistake of equating the Bread of Life discourse to The Last Supper so I sincerely apologized to you for it and somehow I am mocking? AND I should be ashamed?? For what? Apologizing?

I'm confused by your post....

What is the water in "water and Spirit" (vs5)?
It cannot possibly be ordinary H2O which has no spiritual power. But we do know that the Gospel is "the power of God unto salvation" (Rom 1:16) and that is exactly what Peter (who was never a bishop of Rome) tells us. Peter tells us that this "water" is is fact the Word of God, as presented in the Gospel (1 Peter 1:23-25): Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the Word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.

Stop pretending you don't know what the "water is"..... just to try to hide a "water cult".
This is deception, and its not of God.
Stop doing it, Marymog.
Here is "born of water" that Jesus is referring to, so that "born of the Spirit' can be understood as a DISTINCTION He is making in the verse.

You are correct. Stop seeking FOOD, which perishes. He then gave us the "food" that will never perish; His flesh/blood. What did Jesus do to SHOW you how to eat His flesh/blood EG? (hint: last supper)
Can’t be, or else whoever ate the flesh would never die. And we would not be eating it over and over.

Your issue is the end result is not equal

If the end results do not match, they are not the same

He TOLD you to do it and then SHOWED you how to do it. He is a great teacher.....for those that care to listen.

Hmmmm.....if jesus told me to stop seeking food which perishes does that mean I can't eat my Dorito's anymore?

He said whoever did it would never die, unlike manna where they ate continually and still died.

Then according to you he said eat continually. Like manna. And you can still die

And you do not see the issue?

Water cult???? LOL....count me in. That means I am in the cult of the NT Christians kiddo and not your 'distinctive' cult.

So you have been taught by your men that Jesus says that one must be born of amniotic water and Spirit?

Why would Jesus need to stipulate that biological birth is a condition for heaven when all those hearing his message were already born? That seems pedantic.

The context of that verse reveals that Jesus includes both spirit and water in the one act of the second birth. He doesn’t say, “You must be born of water, and then born of the Spirit.”

Stop repeating heretical teachings behold....stop doing it because you will be held to account.

....Mary

No, I do not "see the issue". Translation: I do not understand the theory you have been taught.

HUH??????????????

The words he speaks are the body/blood we are to consume??????? What does that even mean???? When did that heretical teaching start and who taught it to you????? I think you are saying that reading the bible is the same as consuming His body/blood. IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING????

Would you care to address how 1 Corinthians 11:16; 27 equates to reading the bible?

Curious Mary
Oh no you don’t. John 6 first madam

Yes I am serious

Jesus told nicodemus how to be born again, Where did he say Baptize?

Why can’t you show me the word baptize?

Water equals flesh. First birth

Spirit = spirit born again, or second birth

its quite simple. If you just listen to what Jesus said

He literally told us

Don’t work for food which perishes (thou have to eat over and over) but work for the food he came to give which will endure to eternal life. (You eat once)

he called this food the bread of life

He called it his flesh and blood

And in all instances, He said whoever eats will never hunger, never thirst, will live forever. Will never die. HAS eternal life and will be raised.

He then told us it is the spirit who GIVES LIFE.. the word he speaks is SPIRIT AND THEY ARE LIFE.

You and want me to think he means we must eat it over and over and over and are not assured of anythign he promised..

I can;t explain why you can;t see. Its all right there

Jesus said you would never die. Now who is still physically alive from that conversation? Anyone?

of course not. Because jesus was not talking about physical life He was talking about spiritual life. Being born again, Having eternal life.

Thank you EG.

We are not in disagreement on this. When Jesus said we would never die He didn't mean our physical body would never die. He meant we will have eternal life (in heaven).

yes we agree

so why do you weekly take this flesh that gives eternal life to ALL who eat it. Yet are being told you still may not have eternal life?

EG,

A direct answer to my question would be appreciated so I can better understand your stance on this issue: How do you eat His body and drink His blood to have eternal life in you?

I DO NOT want to put words in your mouth, but I THINK you are saying that His words, which are in Scripture, give us Life. I THINK you believe that if you read Scripture, that equates to eating his body and drinking his blood. Is that what you are saying???

No, I do not want you to think that He means we must eat it over and over and over and are not assured of anything he promised. I don't think I have ever said that and The Church does not teach that. We simply do what he told us to do.

water and the spirit is the Christian sacrament of baptism

Jn 3:22 is key
They did not go preaching faith alone!
They went and baptized

the nature of the new covenant church is sacrificial and sacramental

Context of Jn 3:5 “born again”

John1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; (John prepared the way by baptism)

John 2:6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. (Old covenant prefiguring of baptism, purification from sin)(His disciples believed because the ever Virgin mother of God interceded Jn 2:11)

John3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (Baptism)

John 3:22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. 23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.(Baptism / water)

John 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John.

Born again means Baptismal regeneration!

Good morning EG.

Water was used when Jesus was baptized, and the Spirit came upon Him.

Jesus teaches Nicodemus that he must be born again, or from above, which is accomplished through “WATER and the SPIRIT.“

When Jesus finished these words what was the first thing he did? He went down with his disciples and baptized new converts with WATER in the Jordan (Jn 4:1-2).

Peter stood up at Pentecost and said, “Repent, and be baptized (WATER) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy SPIRIT“ (Acts 2:38).

Peter also says “Baptism now saves you“ (1 Pet 3:21), and Paul is told “Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name” (Acts 22:16), and Paul writes that we are saved “by the washing of regeneration (WATER) and renewal in the Holy SPIRIT“ (Titus 3:5).

That is what Scripture says. YOU have been taught that it has to do with "First birth" or being born. No where at no point EVER does Scripture equate those two. If what you have been taught to you by your men were true then why would Jesus need to stipulate that biological birth is a condition for heaven when all those hearing his message were already born? That seems pedantic.

Mary
