The Greek word for “abide” is "meno" which means to remain, tarry, not to depart, continue to be present, which is the mark of a genuine believer. This is not something that only elite saints do.
1 John 4:13 - By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit... 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
Judas Iscariot is a good example of one who did not abide, yet he was an unbelieving, unclean devil who betrayed Jesus. (John 6:64-71; 13:10-11)
Being born again is how you "continue in the faith", as well as "abide IN Christ".
Try to understand that a born again Son/Daughter of God, has "passed from DEATH, to LIFE".
See that? That is beyond "trying to keep my faith so that i can hopefully save myself"
"Passed from DEATH, to LIFE"........ that is what it means to be "In Faith", and "abiding IN Christ".
You are trying to BELIEVE in your FAITH, instead of believing that Christ will get you to heaven.
You have Faith in FAITH, vs, having Faith in CHRIST.
Faith can't save you.
God saves you, not faith.
This is why you believe you can LOSE YOUR SALVATION.
Its because you have put this responsibility on yourself, and that rejects the CROSS, and denies the Grace of God, as your Salvation.

As if you dont understand why he wasn't, then how can you understand SALVATION, at all?

I don't believe that genuine, born again Christians can lose their salvation. Faith in of itself is only as good as the OBJECT that we place it in and of course, faith must be placed exclusively in Jesus Christ for salvation. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ and not by works.

Of course I know that Judas was not born again. Hence, the "unbelieving, unclean devil who betrayed Jesus." (John 6:64-71; 13:10-11) From beginning to end Jesus saves me. I trust 100% in Jesus Christ for salvation. He is the ALL-sufficient means of my salvation.
You are correct.
Salvation is JESUS ON THE CROSS< 2000 yrs ago.
You can't LOSE THAT, if what He did, has been applied to you, by God.
You can not stop being born again.
BIRTH, earthly or spiritual, cannot be "lost".
You might point that out to the many here who can't understand WHY.
I do all the time..... but i would prefer to teach deeper theology, vs, the diaper baby : Christianity 101, endlessly.
But, it not just this forum.....Its all of them.
Occasionally when someone listens, or, they have been following me, ..they ask me a question that isn't disguised as a rant about "Losing salvation".
Those are the good days here, for me.
Dont see too many of those, as mostly its just Legalists, or the religious but lost, trying to prove that Christ can't Keep you saved, and that Eternal life is really just Temporary....and that the Righteousness of God, is only as good as you are.

It feels GOOD to give Christ all the credit due Him, for saving us and keeping us saved.

How you doing on finding that verse that says continuing to believe in the blood of Christ is a rejection of Christ and is you trying to save yourself?
Even the original OSAS teaching said you must continue to believe to the very end to be saved. And if you don't it shows you were never a true believer to begin with. You obviously did not know this.
The only Suffering and Virtue that God accepts, is the suffering and Virtue that Jesus offered as a SINLESS sacrifice for you.

Faith saves you exactly the way Jesus means it when he told the woman, "your faith has saved you" (Luke 7:50).
How are you doing trying not to lose your salvation?
What is that like?
Its a long life when you dont trust Christ to keep you saved., as you know.

Also, there was no water baptism for the dying Thief, as there was no Fire Truck available 2000 yrs ago that could spray him (up there on those nails) while he was dying on that Cross, next to God.
It'll be interesting to talk to Him about that, in Heaven.
Yes, she was "saved"... by God, because she Gave God her Faith.
Later she was born again, and had the Holy Spirit, as HE had not been given yet.
So,
There is no losing being saved, as you can't lose what you can't do for yourself, in this case.
