One more thing. Men are already twisted up by all the bad doctrines. When anyone points out how, with something God has shown them, it will, of course, be rejected at first. And maybe forever.
That's seems too cynical to me. I don't believe that. God confirms truths in our hearts. If we don't want to hear, we can reject all we want to, at least until God chooses the time to correct us. But those who seek God in their hearts, maybe if something is being rejected, maybe there is good reason.

Much love!

I agree.
Once the time of the Apostles and Jesus era was passed, man began to twist & distort all the Word of God.

The Times have always been evil, it seems with more ppl on earth we have become conditioned to this wicked and perverse ppl including the abundance of false doctrine, false messengers and false houses of worship !

We are instructed to be awake, sober and wary, yet so many want to have their conscience soothed instead of cut. Through the Spirit we can identify these ppl through the word.

Sometimes, yes, maybe good reason.
Other times, maybe leaven prevents.
After all, we don’t know when we have swallowed it. We only find out later.
But one thing we do know - WE don’t have any leaven. Right…?

We are to test everything against the Word.
I have heard more of the Spirit showed me this or that. God gives me dreams & visions and I am visited by angels ect etc.

In the O. T. when God sent a messenger angel IT WAS FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE. Today everybody has this supernatural phenomena, I call balderdash..........

I don't think stunned means what you are saying for I agree with your thoughts also.

Yes, always test it. Make them give you the scriptures that brought them there. THEN, go looking for the ones that appear to oppose - the ones they are ignoring. Then ask God to help you see them put together.
But always keep in your mind that you’re looking for what YOU might have wrong too, what YOU might need to adjust for or spit out.

The surer you are that you have no leaven of men, the surer it is that you do.

Someone who's words are rejected will often fault the hearer for refusing good words, not realizing the words are not good, and the hearer understand that.

It becomes a matter of emotions and personalities instead of what is the Scriptural truth, with someone feeling like they have to defend their turf.

So is it because I won't hear sound doctrine? Or is it because I already know sound doctrine?

Can we dialog with each other? Or will we be reactionary, or just non-responsive? I think we see plenty of examples of each on this forum.

This is just saying, If someone says something good, people will just reject it. But I don't see that at all. I see a whole range of experience, some receive, others don't, some have valid reservations, and some make excuses.

How a person responds during doctrinal disagreements tells me so much about that person. Someone who will follow the disagreement through to the end, I love to see that. Too many times, it turns into fallacy after fallacy, just becoming more and more base, with more of those fallacies the ad hominem kind. A "Christian" turns to trashing their doctrinal opponent.

It's all boiled down simply, "You just don't get it!"

That should never be the conclusion of brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Much love!

Amen! We hold fast to the Word. And that's really all we need! Yes, so many stories of people's experiences that would have us to disbelieve the plain sayings of plainly stated Scriptures! As you said, we test everything by the Bible, knowing God's Holy Spirit will teach us.

Much love!

Believe me, I do, the Spirit stops me like I've run into a brick wall when IT RISES.

God is not a respecter of persons and the only special ppl are those that please God to their fullest, not based on what they think but what God knows.

We cannot curry favour with God except we are his and walk in his word and please him by being in his will.

Even then, I'm very very leery of ppl always seeing & talking with angels. Especially if they have weakness they have acknowledged here. God brought us the last special messenger in the human form of himself, Jesus. We have his full message of salvation all the way to the end of his word !

No. What I mean is that we all have some leaven we’ve swallowed.
Except for you, of course. I didn’t mean you. :)

We know the bible is full of verses that command us to obey the laws of God including the sheep and goats scriptures. And I think we should obey the commandments and encourage others to as well. And many of these verses condemn the lawless. But I would like to know if there is more to the salvation of those that have trouble obeying the commandments.

All I know Devin is that it is who do we put on the throne of our heart.

Is it God, first, and to listen and follow Jesus to love God and love others.

Is it ourselves, and doing what we believe is best opposed to what God and the Lord Jesus Christ provides which is better and best, by the spirit.

I believe that if anyone goes to a church and they start to place burdens on you of "YOU MUST DO THIS OR YOU MUST DO THAT".

Dip out.

It's by believing on the Son of God, that a person is reborn in the first place with faith in Jesus, death, burial, and resurrection (and it can include his return). God is pleased by faith... always remember.

You know there was times where I never knew God but would tell him Im sorry for things I had done crying on the bed, asking him not to send me to hell...

Once you come to God and realize that he does forgive you, for all you have done, and when you walk with him and you have issues, God talks to us by the spirit it may not be audible but you can tell it is him trying to get your attention in which either...

one stands proud, or one is Brought low, and falls on their face before God like Abraham had done in Genesis 17.

Falling on the face - is being Brought low, just like humble, and contrite is being broken into pieces.

Psalm 34.

I agree that many many here are NOT Jesus's sheep, though they think they are !
These are BLIND. They cannot really see & know God bc of this blindness. I do believe God turns these over to a reprobate mind and says be gone.
If someone says God has said or showed me.............and I cannot vet it in the Word, then I DONT accept it.

I know too there are the rejectors of the TRUTH & SOUND DOCTRINE!. We have to just let go and move on, leaving them to God. I can see what you are saying but I have noticed true believers don't normally reject or they fail to understand.

I also agree about those that argue doctrine, ALL OUR DOCTRINE IS IN THE WORD and this is what we must live by. Yet too many live by others interpretations and NEVER read the Word.

You can tell when someone is quoting from articles, preachers and commentaries most of the time. I've noticed most here have ZERO understanding of God.

That's what I see cynical. God is able to enlighten us, even when we are in error about something. We can trust Him for this as with all else, I'm certain you know this.

God is gonna be looking at the heart through and through, perhaps some people may have some crazy ideas, but are the actively seeking for God in faith? It's hard to tell on the internet, @L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d. It is hard to read hearts as only God can.

I do my best in life to judge no one else but myself. Have I failed in life at that? Yes I have. Only Jesus by the spirit of Christ really helps me.

Jesus tells us not to judge least we be judged, are there people who may have strange ideas about the Bible ? Sure.

Jesus was sent to set the captives free if anyone is in bondage, but if people like to be in bondage what can one do?

Love kindness, peace, pursue in gentleness by the spirit.
